The good thing about college basketball is you don't have to really worry about ratings. We get to find out every year, with real results, where our team stands. So, last season we were typically rated inside the top 8 teams in the country, wouldn't you know it, the team finished the season in the Elite 8.

Yeah. We didn’t get to see his face when he made that comment. I thought that perhaps he was riffing awkwardly on the constant refrain sung by BYU fans.

He hasn’t perfected coach speak but he has a likable media presence.

It's so hard to separate the on-court persona from the actual guy sometimes. I think it was Kerry Keating who I thought was totally unlikable as a coach (I likened his coach scoul to Beaker or Legal Eagle from the Muppets) but is pretty funny on twitter in his life after coaching.

Case in point is Bob Knight. A fine gentleman to visit with in person. I had a 3 hour plane ride with him and he was very engaging to visit with. He was heading to Montana to Fly Fish, so I coached him up..LOL

My Father and his best friend Tom Collins, started an organization called Grizzly Riders International. They would take people on float trips on the rivers around Missoula. Guided fishing during the day and catered dinner and camping at night.

They took Knight and his staff on one such trip. I wonder if it was that one.

All the money they collected went into the scholarship fund for the University of Montana.

Definitely tongue in cheek. He said first he would like to see Lloyd and Few retire and then after the overrate comment (with a smile on his face) he said that the Zags accomplished extraordinary things and it is good to chase a team.

JMHO... after listening to it a couple of times... think he misspoke. Guessing he meant to say underrated. You don't gush over a team like that and then follow it up with calling them overrated.
