As much as WE feel schools such as AZ and others run inappropriate programs, the NCAA really doesn’t want to investigate any of the “Blue Bloods,” which is why they always accept the self discipline schools propose.

Curious why so many of you feel/think the NCAA will actually investigate and penalize these schools?

You are right, its become obvious...

Imagine if this was, say, Murray St. The Coach would be hung to dry, program on a post-season ban, scholarships taken, etc.

Just look what happened to St Mary's, for less.

Or even LSU. Identical deal, yet since not a blue-blood, they were isolated, exposed, and forced to suspend their Coach.

UNC, Duke, et al, are untouchable -- it'd make the NCAA look bad for their Poster Programs to ever be penalized.

I understand how the school has reasons to hold off on judgement and might want direct evidence to fire him for cause, and is waiting for something other than circumstantial evidence that Miller did something wrong. What I don't understand is why players who have the choice to go virtually anywhere they want are coming into a system with so much uncertainty. Are they still getting paid to come in? Are they willfully ignorant? Do they want to play for college name on the jersey more than they want to play for a specific coach?

The U of A has had a lot of success historically, but haven't been all that good lately. Maybe they want to be a part of something and hope to bring UA back into prominence in the Pac-12. Maybe this is still the premiere landing spot for people who want to play in the west, but I don't see it.

There is more smoke around Duke now, too, with talk first about Zion, and now Marvin Bagley, being paid to play there. Did Boogie Ellis decommit because he got recruited over, or is he seeing the smoke, too?

Excellent post, and I don't feel they will at all, becasue the public isn't interested. If they were, the pressure would be on to move on this, but it's not so they won't. Too much money and influence involved. what is so difficult to understand here?
