Teams draft for potential and offense. GM's watching Collins in playoffs might get enticed. just a WAG

    watch those Duke highlights again
And maybe gets stashed in Europe a few years, a la San Antonio.

I'm not saying this is you Zagceo, but just to make sure everyone is clear on the new draft rules:

Players can hire an agent and still choose to return to school, BUT

Players have to decide if they're officially staying in the draft or not by May 29.

In other words, someone like Filip can't find out if he gets drafted or not and then return to school if he's not. If he stays in the draft, he's stuck moving on and can't come back even if he isn't drafted.

So happy to learn Tillie will be back. Did Petrusev withdraw name from draft as well? I lost track of his progress. It felt like he was really just testing interest and always planned to return.
Anyone recall an announcement? Today is last day to withdraw, right?

          He is coming back.

SPOKANE, Wash. –  Gonzaga freshman Filip Petrusev announced Tuesday that he will not pursue any professional options and will return for his sophomore season.

Petrusev might be the only early entrant who returns to his team and not be in the starting lineup the upcoming season.

I fully expect Timme and Tillie to start together up front.

Watson to back up Kispert and whomever is at PF.

Followed by Petrusev at Center for either Timme or Tillie.

Petrusev to still log 18-20 mins a game.

Ballo spot minutes. Pavel RS or garbage minutes.

He most certainly would have had we not had a 5th year senior miraculously come back from a back (and a big back at that) injury, one in which the odds were very much against him.

Still, I remember Collins in during crunch time in plenty of games, and would've been in more had he … not been out of the game due to fouls.

More and more in our system it would be hard for players to complain about not starting. Yes, it is affirmation, but so is PT when the game rides on the next 5 minutes.

I wouldn't worry about it if I were him.

He's valued. Anndddd, there's no rule that says that a guy can't be moved into the starting lineup if he cannot be kept out (see Morrison, Pangos, Bell, and a million others I am forgetting).
