Another top-notch school. Unsurprisingly, sounds like he's targeting some quality institutions.

Very solid basketball team with a great coach who isnt going to bail on him. Would be a great place for him.

I would LOVE to see Liam commit to Davidson. It is an elite academic institution with as good of a head coach as there is in D1 college basketball. There is no doubt why Tommy guided Liam towards Davidson.

    Couldn’t agree more, CDC.

    A perfect fit for Liam.

One thing that amazes me about McKillop......this upcoming season will be his 30th year as head coach of the Davidson men's basketball team. A southern school in Davidson, North Carolina. McKillop grew up in Queens, and he has not lost a single bit of his deep "New York" accent. Tony Bennett, who is a hell of a lot younger than McKillop, has developed a southern accent since coaching at UVA despite his Midwestern roots. In the rock and roll world, all of Tom Petty's relatives developed southern accents from living in Gainesville. Tom never got one, even as a kid. The human tongue works in strange ways.

Especially if you are looking for work after retiring from the service. You don't know how many USAF people I know who are doubling up on retirements and making big bucks working for some airline company in whatever capacity after they quit the service. They have a hard time retaining people because their skills are so marketable.

For sure. One of my graduating seniors just accepted his appointment to the Air Force Academy. A fine young man. Can't go wrong with either Air Force or Davidson.

Davidson! Fine academic school in a pretty decent conference and an interesting point I heard several years ago - there are no locks on dorm room doors...they have an exacting honor code...

The AFA is also a good school, great atmosphere for football games - it also has an honor code and the discipline is pretty demanding too...demerits are handed out for the smallest infraction...strange though but the school has gone through some sexual discrimination concerns in the past...

Jerry Krause coached for a stint at Air Force didnt he?

Edit: Nope, it was West Point

"Krause initially left GU in 1993, but returned in 2001 after a five-year civilian term with the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, where he was director of instruction for the academy’s department of physical education and a sport philosophy professor."

I know Liam came out publicly and said he wanted to cut his own path, but he only holds 3 offers to EWU, Toledo and Air Force. My gut tells me that unless he gets a offer from a competitive program, he will walk on Few and his father.

I'd think that Air Force would be tough to turn down. Great academics, good reputation.

I'm not sure what you consider competitive, but Toledo won the MAC West last year and won 25 games overall, finishing 25-8 after losing to Xavier in the NIT. Only Buffalo had a better record in the MAC.

I do not seeing him walking on. He will go play somewhere. I got someone mad at me with another Eastern Washington recruit and my assessment of him being recruited by GU, but Liam falls in a similar boat. The difference is he "could" walk on and have his school covered, I just don't see that as an option right now.

Liam has reported on Twitter offers from Montana State (6/30), UC Davis (7/11), Grand Canyon & Northern Colorado (7/26), and Utah Valley (8/7). Now whether those offers actually exist or not is not for me to say but he seems to have interest by more than three schools and he also visited Davidson in late May. Most of these schools are below WCC level of competition, but he might find himself onto a winning program that has a chance to extend its season in March while he is there.

But it requires a whole lot more than other colleges. A whole lot more.

He has plenty of time to get more offers this season. Not every team is looking to fill out their class in November, like we typically tend to do. Depending on how much Liam has improved, he could garner interest from many team out west amongst others. With coaching changes, often times many spots open up for seniors in the Spring too. I am sure he will find the right fit for him. I would tend to agree that him walking on at Gonzaga is unlikely but a WCC offer or even lower tier Pac12 offer could eventually show up (WSU/Cal/OregonSt) types.

Solid point. I could see him going to a lower Pac 12 team like OSU and he must be drawing more interest as he has raised his recruiting rankings over the last year. I don't claim to know what the kid is thinking but I can't see him playing for a MAC team when he could get his college payed for at GU and potentially be a solid role player down the road. If he did in fact take a visit to Davidson that is a quality school in the A10.

    Default College paid

I guess I am confused. If Liam walks on, his college would be on his own footing until offered a scholarship, right? I thought Gu did away with the employees family goes to school for free. Nevertheless, the kid is talented. His first quarter vs federal way carried prep in to the state final.

JMHO the Johnnies took a turn south with the Jarvis debacle and have never recovered.
