Most of you guys would think me selfish wanting them to come to Columbia so I can live with SLC...
Haha that would be funny. Duke and GU at the same first weekend location... and then maybe again at the same location two weeks later.

San Jose without a doubt, and if I were Gonzaga, I would petition the committee if allowed. "If we are a number one, please give us SJC." I remember that Withers article (I think it was Withers) where Few revealed that he wished GU could be placed in Sacramento in 2017 instead of SLC based on how viciously the SLC crowd turned against the Zags in 2013 when GU was a #1. I mean, it went beyond the beyond. No #1 seed should ever have to endure that. And sure enough, GU had to face a road game atmosphere for 2 games in 2017 as well. You would think because of the Stockton connection they would be more kind. BYU joining the WCC?? That school is not that far from SLC.

The other thing about SJC is that it is in the heart of WCC country (the league headquarters are just up the road), and it's the place which put GU into its first final four.

That being said, I expect GU to be assigned SLC, regardless of their seed. It's frustrating because if Key Arena were not being renovated, the Zags would be assigned there. Seattle and SJC traded.

Seems like always, GU plays on the Thursday / Saturday part of the March Madness schedule. I would say 90% over the last 20 years.

The fans cheering against Gonzaga in SLC are mostly Utah Ute fans...

They view any success of the WCC as being a success for BYU, and so they cheer loudly against Gonzaga.

That's interesting because I was surrounded by BYU fans whose allegiance clearly fell to Southern and Wichita State. Those two games were complete agony in SLC. Hopefully Few and Co. rid those evils in 2017.

With Duke losing, I think we have a tiny tiny outside shot at the number one overall which would likely put us in San Jose (assuming avoiding SLC is still Few’s preference). But we need to cheer against Duke, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina. . I don’t think anyone from the Big 10 (or anyone else for that matter) can string enoug good wins together to pass us.

Edited to add: I don’t think anything we do will affect our chance at moving up to the #1 overall seed - we win, we keep our chances alive. This is all outside our control and relies on other teams to lose games.

Have you ever read the book, "How to sin in Lodi?" It's 152 blank pages.

San Jose! I think we go there. Seed has been planted.

In San Jose we could "Party at the Marriott" like back when the WCC tourney was at the Leavey Center (if our fanbase isn't perma-banned ).

San Jose is the much better option than Salt Lake City.

San Jose over SLC by a country mile....better juju/memories, larger fan base, brighter lights....bring it on!
