Lady Zags move up to #13 in AP Poll

    From GoZags:

WBB: Bulldogs Move Up to #13 in AP Poll
    Ranking sets new program record

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Gonzaga women's basketball team continues to climb as the Bulldogs moved up one spot to No. 13 in the latest AP Poll. It's the highest ranking ever by a GU team, surpassing last week's record of No. 14.

Last week, the Bulldogs ran past visiting Portland 97-71 to remain a perfect 5-0 in WCC play while boasting a program-best 16-1 record. Zykera Rice and Laura Stockton finished the game with career performances as Rice scored a career-high 28 points while Stockton added a career-high 19 points with six assists to move into fourth all-time in program history in career assists with 401.

Gonzaga hits the road this week for games at BYU (Jan. 17, 6 p.m. PT) and at San Diego (Jan. 19, 2 p.m.).

One note of interest to Lady Zag fans is that Rutgers has entered the AP poll at #20. Work 'n that RPI.

The Lady Zags remain a #4 seed in the latest bracketology.

In this iteration of Bracketology, the #4 Lady Zags would be playing in Spokane against #13 Rice (winner of conference USA) and that winner would play the winner of #5 Kentucky vs #12 Georgia Tech.

An interesting note is that BYU is shown also as a winner of the WCC (placeholder??) and is currently shown as a #10 seed in the Midwest region. BYU would be playing in Starkville, Mississippi.

Yes, the advanced metrics used to calculate the "NET" are not produced and/or gathered for the Wbb games.

Here is a link to the "as of this moment" RPI which is changed daily.

I see BYU at 28. Gonna be a tough one Thursday.

                  10 is awesome. Keep winning.
