Oregon's Fresman Nyara Sabally was injured this summer playing for Germany and not playing. Younger sister of Ore. Sophomore Satou Sabally but even better.

Yes, plenty of pre-season injuries and throughout the course of the season. But four players having season ending injuries in one night? I don't remember hearing about anything like that before. Especially 3 significant contributors for teams from the same conference.

Nyara's injury was unfortunate, but since she'd never played a game with the team yet it's not quite the same as a proven starter or rotational player going down during the course of the season.

To tie it back into GU, the lady zags lost Kylee Griffin for the year due to a shoulder injury before the season started, lost Jenn Wirth, a projected starter, for the first 7 games of the season and Jessie Loera, a starting guard for two games (Stanford & WSU) because of a concussion.

With the deep, quality team the Zags have this year, the injuries have been more of an annoyance (to the team/fans, not the player) than a significant impact on the team. However, it was not that long ago that a couple of injuries to major players had GU finishing 5th in the WCC.

You hate to see anybody get hurt, let along a significant injury that could impact the rest of their career, even if it is before it gets started.
