That’s 100% on the coaching staff. Incredibly awful situationally at the end. Clarke far superior defender in that situation as seen by the 3 that got banked in just two possessions prior.

Why do people always have to blame someone?

That banked 3 was just lucky and changed so much.

Dude, Tennessee won.. Give them props came back from 6 in first and 9 in second. They are a good team.

Zags are solid, but the OOC schedule was hard this year, even being 1 at this point is a surprise. I expect us to lose next Saturday too. But all this will help us come March when it all counts.

Yes, sometimes good teams play other good teams and someone has to lose.. Was the case today.

You do have to consider Tennessee’s defense. They are kind of a pretty good team.

Always hate to see the Zags go into the last 2 to 3 minutes of a game with a 6 to 8 point lead against a very good team. We always slow it down, lose the aggressive offensive approach; the other team remains aggressive on offense and makes a game out of it down the stretch. In this case, they won the game.

It's basketball. We probably werent going to go undefeated. Especially missing two of our top seven to eight. Everything is fine.

They came out of a timeout knowing who was getting the ball and chose to put Rui on him. Rui is great. But Clarke is a better defender in that situation. Simple truth.

As was Farnham’s post game interview with Schofield. Not only is that dude a warrior, but I loved what he had to say about his goal being to become Barnes’ favorite player ever.

That banked 3 still sticks in my craw though.

I have to agree - especially coming out of a time out. You have to deny that guy the ball or at least have to make him work to get it. You can't leave the hot hand all alone for a catch a shoot. Make somebody that has scored 20 less points in this game try to beat you.

Maybe this outcome gives GU a sense of resolve heading to the Dean Dome on Saturday. . .looking for some lemonade in a barrel of lemons right now.

After the sluggish start, I was happy they were down by only a bucket at the half.

ZERO points from Josh today. Ouch.

Very good game today between two very good teams. Very little to pick between the two teams.

Everybody knew Schofield had to touch the ball on the Tennessee final possession. Farnham was extolling the fact that Tennessee "had" to have Schofield touch the ball when Tennessee was bringing up the ball. Few knew it, his coaching staff knew it and you can be sure the players knew it.

Yet, when Tennessee switched, Perkens and RUI both followed the dribbler leaving Schonfield wide open for the 3. Give credit to Schonfield for hitting an unbelievable, pressure-packed, 3 but there should have been a hand in his face. He may have made it anyway, but you simply cannot give a player of that caliber an open shot.

The GU defense came up big against Duke, had a let down in the final seconds today.

Maybe we get a chance to avenge come March.

Well done to both teams for a highly entertaining, well played game.

Rui was quoted in the Review article that he was supposed to switch.
