    Default Chasing Records 2018-2019

While the Lady Zags are chasing victories and could care less about individual statistics, some of us fans are record watching as the season progresses.

While Ms. Barta is no longer with us (she had the potential to break numerous Zag records) we still have a couple of athletes who are moving up the career records list.

With the new "team" concept of this year's Lady Zag Wbb, it is very unlikely any individual, annual record will be in jeopardy this year. However we do have a couple of student athletes that are move up the career record list.

Zykera Rice - At the beginning of the year, "Z" was listed at #7 in career field goal percentage with shooting percentage of 0.497. This number is just below Ashley Anderson at 0.498 and just above Lisa Vestal at 0.491. Currently this year, "Z" is shooting at a rate of 0.449, just under her career average. When you add in this years numbers to her career numbers she drops down to tied with #9 (Jenn Wirth) and #10 (Collen Parker) at 0.489.

Laura Stockton - At the beginning of the year, LS was listed at #7 in the career assists category with 335 assists. So far this year, Laura has 37 assists giving her a total of 372 career assists moving her up to #6 on the career assist mark just behind Carla Curfman who has 393 career assists. Assuming no injuries this year, it looks like Laura will make it up to the #3 spot in career assists passing Amy Simpson and trailing only Shannon Mathews (600) and Courtney Vandersloot (1118).

    Congratulations ladies.

I was remiss in my previous post, their are some players chasing individual, season records this year.

Katie Campbell is currently chasing two (2) different individual, season records. Her overall shooting percentage so far is 0.500 and the 8th-10th spots on the individual season overall shooting percentage is 0.529. so she has a chance to break into the top 10. A better possibility for Katie is to break into the top-10 of the "made 3 pt shots in a season" category. From 3 pt range Katie is currently 22-40, not quite a 1/3 of the way through the season. The current records for a season range from 57 at #10 (Shannon Mathews) to 90 at #1 by Jessica Malone. If she continues on this pace she would make it into the top 5 all time.

Unfortunately, there is no listed record of shooting % for 3 pt shots in a season or Katie would already be near the top of the charts.

We also have several players in the top 10 currently for free throw % in a season. The current records range from 0.835 at #9 & #10 (by Carla Curfman & Katelon Redmond) to 0.876 at #1 (Jill Barta). Currently, Laura (0.952), LeeAnn (0.909) and Katie (1.000) are all in the top-10 for seasonal, free throw percentage with Chandler (0.818) just a bit outside looking in.

Great Job ladies, keep it up.
