He’s only 75% accurate. I still say he will be a Zag...

I don't think I would worry to much about this.

Jerry does have a pulse on things, but he doesn't always have the whole story. I am confident Suggs will be a Zag.

I don't want to put water on your flame but I would not be super confident.

Haha. I forgot but I don’t think I’m gonna be paying off. Much ado about nothing. Feel sorry for the true believers like Caldwell, a good guy.

It wasn't really a bet, but if (when) Suggs is on the team I get an "I was wrong" from Jazz. Which would be quite satisfying, almost as much as actually landing our highest rated recruit ever.

If Suggs never plays for GU, does jazz win anything? Seems only fair he at least should get some others to post an acknowledgment that pessimism is occasionally warranted or prescient.

In addition to the university staff spending so much time and money on the kid, I imagine it would be a gut punch to strawther and Harris as well.

We should probably just lock this thread TBH, I could see things turning further south quickly.

I would strongly agree because the reaction will be very raw.

And that would not be justifiable?

What has changed with the Australian league that they are willing to offer million dollar contracts and not $100k ones? Is Europe in the mix now?

It could be a sponsorship money thing.

Depends. If his family strung the team along with false impressions, then sure.

But if they've been open & transparent with the the staff about the professional route possibility and the staff well was well informed, then absolutely not. Unless you have inside knowledge to the contrary, you'd be making a pretty big leap of assumption.

The Suggs' family is absolutely entitled to choose the route they deem best for their sons' future success. I'm of the mind that Gonzaga would be the most optimal path forward but they may think otherwise. Either way I'd wish the kid all the success in the future because I'm inclined to make the presumption that they've been frank with the staff.

He’s certainly entitled to take the route he thinks is best. Wishing Jalen actually gets to make the decision.

It’s just a really unfortunate situation for the Zags, because we likely lost out on other opportunities given how certain everything was in the fall.

Nothing is done yet, obviously, though it’s sounding like his parents went from being intrigued about the international route, to preferring it now.

    I'm curious as well.

Is there anyone on the board with in depth knowledge on international professional leagues that could provide some insight?
Granted I'm (we) are bias in this situation, but it just doesn't seem like playing overseas for a one year $150k contract and being out of the public eye is long-term more financially beneficial than playing at a premier college program domestically.

I think most people would agree if someone like Zion (who earned cult-like status in his one year at Duke) had chosen to play a year in Australia instead that he would be nowhere near the household name he has become.
