2020 Jalen Suggs: Verbal Commit on 1/3/20

Iowa's Jalen Suggs?

Iowa’s Jalen Suggs comes from an athletic family and he’s clearly a guy who loves to compete. He plays football and basketball in high school and would like to play both in college, a la Charlie Ward.

There are almost too many to count at this point, but Suggs holds at least 25 basketball offers, including from Gonzaga and Kansas. He said about 10-12 schools have offered him in both sports, including Minnesota, Iowa, Iowa State, Georgia and Ohio State.

Just know that Suggs has been really high on Gonzaga for a long time and when he visited he damn near signed. I was and still am shocked that Strawther signed prior to Suggs, but I guess that's the difference between being a Top 50 recruit and a Top 10 recruit.

I can only think of two reasons why Suggs hasn’t verbally committed yet:

1) Still entertaining thoughts of the gridiron
2) Waiting to see if a blue blood he perceives as being better than Gonzaga comes calling.

The more time goes by without a verbal from Suggs, the less likely it is he becomes a Zag imo

As much as we all want to believe #2 is why he has not gave a verbal yet, Suggs is different than most top recruits and relationships are what matter to him, family matters to him, and Kentucky doesn't. Timing is everything, I would not be shocked if a VC came BEFORE the June evaluation period.

If I could handpick 3 posters to be the 3 last posts, it would be caldwellzag, GoZags and basketballzag.

In other words, those 3 are the 3 most likely posters to have good intel on anything they post.

In my words, Let's GOOOOO!!! Jalen Suggs is going to be my favorite Zag of all time. I can feel it.

Lastly, keep an eye on Chet Holmgren's twitter... Jalen has been throwing out Zags tea leaves on twitter for quite some time, and Chet is starting to do the same.

With BBZ and GoZags following my post, I would have to say the excitement could not get much higher if you are a Zags fan and follow recruiting.

Only thing I would disagree with on that is Petrusev, as I believe he is gone after blowing up as a sophomore. Add the names Kessler, Burnett, or Nix to one of those spots and I think you are right on.

I think no matter how many minutes he gets he will be a first round pick next year. His game is really good for the modern day NBA big and if the NBA is not calling Europe will be and honestly money talks.
