This means we arrived 3 seasons ago FYI.

As an aside, and not to thread-jack, but what is the record for most consecutive NCAA tournament appearances in a row by a coach? Does anyone have this? I am aware of the longer streaks of teams (Kansas, Duke, Arizona), but both Kansas and Arizona were coached by different coaches during their runs. Is the 1996-present streak by coach K the longest in the history of the tournament? If so I like Few's chances of one day catching him given their age difference).
Duke is at 23 if you count one coach...Few is at 19..Kansas holds current at 29

I'm convinced Few will never relinquish the mindset that there will always be a next level. He built the program that way and will probably never give in to being satisfied about having arrived. Even when he wins a National Championship.

Many good ones proffered, but yours has a little more burn to it.

Also, if the announcers note that we would be a "great win" for both Tenn and UNC to get the No. one seed, that'll be the same.

I hope it's not just me but I certainly have experienced a more civil/thoughtful GU Men's Basketball board thus far this season. Thanks everyone! Happy Holidays!

I am not sure I heard him correctly....but I think when Few photo bombed Bilas as he was just about open a ESPN segment.....Jay said something like.... there is the best college coach in America......I can't imagine Mark doing something like that even 5 years ago...

The media now refer to him as a future hall of fame coach..

    When will we have arrived?

When the pundits to a man (or woman) pronounce Gonzaga correctly.

"Pound for pound the best college coach in America" was what Bilas said

That, sir, is clearly less likely than a national championship.

When there's a 3 page thread on Realgm dedicated solely to Gonzaga NBA prospects:

They have more than 3 wins against the top 25 in one year and none of them are against Saint Mary's. Zags need to improve the .413 win % against the top 25 if they want to talk blue blood. This year is going to be a great start!!

We the media starts referring to you as a Blue Blood of the West. Next is a Blue Blood, period.

    Entertaining thread, folks. Thanks.

I loved the Creighton win validating the Big East quote, but there are a lot of good ones here.

Agreed! And we finally lose the label of mid-major.

My posts indicate that I don't seem to follow college basketball all that closely.

When the opposing coach says beating your team is "a signature win."

When the fans of a P5 school storm the court after beating your team.

Since the season of Gonzaga's 1999 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament run to the Elite 8, Gonzaga has played a total of 91 games against teams ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll. Gonzaga has a record of 38–54 (.413) against such teams. They have beaten top-3 teams five times in all, taking down #3 teams three times (Missouri in 2003–04, and Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State in 2004–05), #2 once (North Carolina in 2006–07), and #1 once (Duke in 2018–19). This includes all tournament games. Zags are 7-1 against a ranked Saint Mary's and 0-1 against a ranked pre WCC BYU . Outside of conference 31-53 .369 win %. Obviously trending upwards since 2015.

When the team is annually the "Best in the West", and anything less than a S16 is considered a "bad" season.

Also loved the one about school pronunciation.

Tends to happen when you are winning. If we drop one or two, watch out!
