Should immediately vault near the top of any grad transfer ranking. An elite shooter at the college level who would fit anywhere.

    ANTHONY
    MATHIS Avg 14 pts, 41% from 3, 2.2 boards 2.1 assists and 88% FT
Would the West Linn Oregon proximity help us out if we were interested?

    Elite shooter.

All the big dogs will come knocking for this one.

Made 222 3pt shots in his career. Only played 10 games his sophomore season too.

For comparison sake, Perkins made 251 3pt shots in his GU career.

Mathis is career 43% 3pt shooter. Numerous games of 7 or more made 3pt shots. He will approach Kevin Pangos type shooting #'s

Can pass the ball too, decent size, length, etc.

A blue blood will want him as a sniper.

Proven player, will have his pick of the litter

This article makes it sound like Oregon is the likely landing spot:

When I saw West Linn in the post above, my first thought was he must have played w/ Pritchard; turns out they were best friends in hs per your link. And UO only has six scholarship players at this point, so tons of pt there.

    - I'm going to begin GAW's crystal ball, make my first prediction....Oregon.
    - then after he commits to Oregon, closed it down with a 100% success ratio.

    Whoa!

Yeah, Zags got bigs, but this guy is a stud on the court.

I know absolutely nothing about him off the court.

Shocking news to me, initially, considering how all current bigs on roster may react....particularly Petrusev and the freshmen whose PT would definitely go down if this immediately eligible grad transfer PF, Blackshear, were to become a Zag.

On the other hand, it sure does send a powerful message to the entire team from the coaches: we are all about winning and giving this year’s team the very best shot at winning. Nobody is guaranteed anything when it comes to playing time. Ruthless perhaps but the reality of D1 hoops.

Flex, I've watched him play several times and he is a STUD...would love to have him...don't see a problem regarding minutes...Coach Few always gave minutes to those that worked hard in practice and performed during games...If he did chose to come it would be a great learning experience for our freshman bigs...IMO

I will be shocked if he lands anywhere but College Station.

Speaking of messages, what would it say to future recruits of A&M that a player did not want to follow his old coach?

Yes, that would be a surprise and that would say a lot; however, A&M isn't going to be a strong team next year, while GU has tremendous potential, especially with Gilder transferring from A&M...I'm thinking he goes to a school that has an opening as well as the best opportunity to move to the next level...GU has had GREAT success with bigs these past years and IMO that says a lot about our program...outside of one and done's, not sure if any other school has had the success we have had in putting bigs into the NBA...

I'm surprised Kerry Blackshear wasn't considered a higher draft pick.

Every single game I watched of his, at least 5 or 6, I was incredibly impressed.

His strength, motor, rebounding, toughness are top notch.

Lacking in speed and shooting yet numerous NBA teams could use someone with his ability.

I'm shocked we are even discussing him.

Visited Florida yesterday, visiting Arkansas today. 1 day visits. Dont count out Musselman, he is the "transfer whisperer". He had 6 grad transfers or something last season alone.

    Likely A&M, but who knows

Not that we ever really seemed in consideration but reports say Blackshear won't be making any more visits. I think we can safely rule GU out for good on that front.

In 2018 former Milton Academy Shooting Guard, Cormac Ryan, signed with Stanford over offers from Florida, Michigan, Villanova, and Notre Dame. Ryan now "will make his way to South Bend for an official visit this Monday and Tuesday according to Rivals, which seemingly puts Notre Dame in his top five schools. As a freshman guard in Palo Alto, [he] averaged 8.7 points and started 17 games for the Cardinal. However, those numbers dipped as the season went on, and that might have triggered a want/need for a change of scenery. Known as one of the best shooters in the 2018 class, he ... is also considering Butler, Davidson, Gonzaga, Marquette, Northwestern, Penn, Texas, Villanova, Virginia and Yale according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports."

Ryan Woolridge apparently committed this weekend. Per Jim Meehan’s Twitter.

Yep he did. This came together pretty quick and I heard Friday he was coming to town. Great pick up!
