Default GU vs Creighton - Predictions/Thoughts/What you do hope to see

Start of a tough set of games. Zags continue to sharpen their teeth before conference play.

What are you hoping to see against Creighton? What do you expect to see? Predictions

Top 30 team in one of the most hostile places to play in America and 20 point win predictions? MAn thats a lot of hope. They are looking great, but I would take a 7-10 point win happily. They will only be favored by 5 or so. Kenpom only has it as a 3 point Zags victory.

A tough game and atmosphere await the Zags.

Have a feeling this is a toss up type game.

Creighton is well coached, play smooth bball, and feature legit big East type talent on their roster.

They beat #15 Clemson for a reason, close to cracking Top 25 and should.

Their guards are tall, and their forwards are skilled.

This will be a hard fought win, and one we will have to earn.

Gutsy win by the good guys. They're not giving up that #1 just yet.

I think it will be a close game that the zags pull away around the 10 minute mark of the second half.

Tough team in a tough place to play but I think the Zags are just simply better.

Think this game got tougher when Crandall went down - I think he was just starting to get comfortable enough to take his shots. Going to miss that experience guard play.

Going to be a very tough road win. Bringing that #1 ranking into their house, amped up crowd, solid team, no Geno. I'm more nervous about this one than the Duke game. But...we have one helluva team. Hoping we grind out a tough win.

I’m just hoping that our wounded backcourt can contain Grant Gibbs. He’s a big, strong combo guard who can light it up from outside or fight through contact to get to the foul line. Ayayi and Foster better be ready to play, if the starters get into foul trouble.

Hmmmm ..... First away game on a non-neutral court. Creighton is good too. Killian and Geno on the bench ...... Then again, Zags had Dook by double digits for a goodly amount of time. These Zags are no stranger to having teams throw everything at them - at home or on the road. I think we'll see both Clarke and Hachimura give Creighton fits and they won't be able to stop Zag 3s. Zags win by 20.

    Zags 90
    Creighton 70

I hope to see Filip and Jeremy both in double digit scoring and Zags shooting 75+% FTs. I also hope to see Foster get a few good mins helping out with Geno's absence.

This feels like a "trap" game to me.

Seems crazy to label a team such as Creighton, a Top-25 type team, a true road game, as a 'trap game'.

When your in-state rival is next game, followed by not one, but two Top-10 teams, this begins to feels trap-ish.

Very nervous about this game. Going to be intense. Their effort level, and atmosphere will be through the roof. Creighton can make shots, have athletes to compete, skilled guards and bigs, not mention superb Coaching.

This will take Zags' A game to pull it out, imo.

Just ask #1 Villanova last year, Omaha is tough place to play.

If you want a preview of Creighton, they play Montana on Wednesday at 5:30 PST. The game is on Fox Sports 1.

Not a "trap" game, per se. I do worry about a slow start, considering an earlier start time. It will be our first true road game against a quality opponent.

    Zags 83, Creighton 79

ETA: just saw their stats for the year, they are a very good offensive team, percentage wise. Our defense is going to have to be stout for 40 minutes. I'll stick with my original prediction, though, as they are averaging 81 points a game.

X-factor will be Snacks (I think he's the X-factor in most of the big games this year.) We can basically count on production from the interior players every game so it really comes down to guard play. If he's hitting outside shots we don't lose. Just hope he doesn't wait until the 2nd half to start making them.

Zags win 92-74. Tough road win. Defense continues to improve. Team offensive cohesion continues to improve. Fewer silly fouls and turn overs. We're rolling now.

Gibbs has slowed a bit since he became a grandfather.....so I see 83 -75 win for Gonzaga....
