So am I to assume that Zakharov is the one that BobZag was alluding to in his "There is another" post?

More good news for Gonzaga fans, i’ve been told they’ve got a good shot at landing Oumar Ballo (aka baby shaq) in the coming days as well.

Mark Few and his staff have been on a roll lately.

Is 247 rating him at number 37 in the nation?

I know nothing about potential recruits so I have to ask -- Am I reading that right?

Higher than Timme? If so, where has the 900 post thread peppered with angst, hope and speculation been?

If he is anywhere close to that good, this is an absolute killer class.

This class is getting crazy... Timme probably just went from Center to PF before setting foot on the court. With Zakhorov and Petrusev at the 5, Timme and Clarke at the 4... embarrassment of riches.

Yep, you're reading that correctly. Insane class, and it doesn't appear to be done yet...

One of the best prospects at the Prep Showcase this past weekend was 6-foot-10 post player Pavel Zakharov. Having watched him at the European Championships this past summer, we knew he was good. But he exceeded expectations in New Haven. He has legitimate size and the type of body that will fill out. His hands are terrific, and he consistently made difficult catches in traffic. His touch is deft and he can score it with his back to the basket, particularly over his left shoulder. Zakharov also has a good feel for the game, advanced footwork, plays with patience on the block and is a talented passer. Throw in a 7-1 wingspan, a 8-10.5 standing reach and impressive athleticism and he’s quite the prospect.

The cupboard is looking less and less empty! Let’s hope we are getting some multi year players to pair with Harris!

2019 Russian big man Pavel Zahkarov Signs with Gonzaga

“Pavel has the size and strength to dominate the paint, but he also has great outside touch and feel for how to play,” Montverde coach Kevin Boyle Jr. said. “Once he adjusts to playing in the U.S., I expect him to really start putting his athleticism and ability to run the floor and play on the perimeter on display. He’s as good as any true big man we have had at Montverde offensively, and at 17 years old he has the potential to be a major impact player at the highest levels of college basketball.”

Yeah, not that I'm complaining, but a PG would be sweet right now.

What year would Ballo be? born in 2002 -- at least one site has him classified as a 2021

Ballo should be a Thanksgiving Present for the Zags. I believe the Coaching staff believes that a number of players may head to the NBA at the end of this season.

Yes Ballo would be a 2019 recruit not 2020.

    Thank you, Mr. Glass Half-Empty!

ETA: Could be enough to bring back Zach, to be floor general. How ridiculous would that team be?

An embarrassment of front court riches! Any sign of a point guard for 2019 on the horizon?

Are there any countries GU hasn't had a recruit from yet? They've got Western and Eastern Europe pretty well covered. First Russian?

Guy Landry-Edi is from Ivory Coast. Bol Kong was South Sudanese but came in via Canada so I guess it depends on how you look at it. Oumar Ballo will be the next one.
