87-79 Zags. I'm not a fan of Illinois, and am hoping for a serious beat-down but suspect it'll be relatively tight.

Rui, Rui, and more Rui .... I think he'll be HOT and feel right at home on an island in the Pacific.
I hope to see Zag experience and great team play just plainly fluster Illinois.
I also hope to see Zag 3s falling helping to create the 30 point spread I'm predicting (and continued good FT shooting). The Zags are not #3 in the nation for nothing and Zag play in Maui is going to be impressive.

According to their forum, Trent Frazier, their starting PG, is going to be available after being out with a head knock. He missed the G'Town game. Don't see that being enough to overcome the Zag's firepower though.

Josh flirts with a triple double. Geno shines and has his best game yet (with us).

Zags 88, Illini 72. Both teams suffer from jet lag, time zone change, distracted by Polynesian women. lol

I'm very happy about what I've been seeing; so just keep it up. I do believe I'd like to see them hit more 3's. Is this the game that the Zags begin to hit free throws?

I wish Illinois was just a little better this year. I would love to see a 85-74 GU win to pay them back for the game in 2012 that was the only dark spot on that particular sports weekend for me that year. I've heard/read a little about the Illini press, so hopefully it's a good one and will give the Zags some experience for better ones to come. I think jet lag has a minimal affect on 18-21 y.o. athletes, so I think we'll see a fairly typical effort from them.

Frazier returns, but will be rusty and out of sync. Illini have little depth, so use subs often and run, run, run them into exhaustion. Also saves starters’ energy for three games in three days. A bit of pressure defense and offensive boards would also be refreshing. Not a serious challenge for the Zags.

even though I was born in Illinois, I am still pouting at the two times they beat us earlier in the decade. Some Illinois fans, acquaintances, rubbed it in with that "I told you so, zags crumble against real competition." my wish 125-68 drubbing.
My Prediction: GU 89, IL 75

Closer than we'd like, but Clarke & Rui combo just too much for the Illini. Will be interested in watching Illini freshman guard 6'5" Ayo Dosunmu, averaging 21.5 pts in 1st 2 games.
