Interesting article in The Athletic today:

The benefits of a ‘calloused mind’: Zach Collins’ rehab includes his approach to the game — and his life
Somewhere between the haze of dashed dreams and the post-surgery pity parties, Collins was confronted by what many professional athletes encounter during a major injury: an identity crisis. During most of his 21 years, basketball was the most defining element of his life. It was what he was best at, how he was recognized, how he managed his stress, and how he viewed himself.

And now, basketball was gone until the spring, leaving him with a harrowing question: Who was he?

“What else do you have?” Collins remembers asking himself. “And I realized, I don’t have much.”

Nice little article on NBC Northwest about Zach and his time at Gonzaga.

Gonzaga prepared Zach Collins for the NBA in more ways than one

Zach played 7 minutes against Grizzlies today, but he looked hobbled throughout. Apparently, ankle inflammation. https://www.nbcsports.com/northwest/...t-ankle-injury

What a bummer. Despite the injuries I thought he showed enough that he would still be getting a contract worth a few mil a year. Can't imagine anyone takes more than a cheap, short flier on him anymore now until he can show some consistent health.

Prayers up for Zach Collins. Just devastating news for a young player who has already endured so much rehab time. Hope Zags MBB community rallies behind him and reaches out to support him. So bummed for him.

That is just very concerning ......and a good illustration of why those that can get a significant amount of money should turn pro....

I think about 10 million of his contract was guaranteed .....whatever that means .....I hope so..... no one is promised tomorrow.

    Thanks Reno.

Curious what will happen with him.

Do the Wizags or the Grizags need another Zag?

How many NBA teams are looking for an injury-prone big man ? Glad he scored some serious coin when he could.
