US hasn't won on Euro soil in a LOOOOOOOONG time. 1993 to be exact. Don't see that changing.

IMHO it is good for golf when a foreign player or team wins.....there was about zero interest in the Ryder Cup when for decades the US would always win.... I will always admire Jack for conceding that putt to Tony Jacklin in 1969...

    Europe 15 USA 13.

I agree with LIZF. USA has not won away from home in 25 years and has been clobbered a few of those times. Europe is loaded this year unlike 2016. It will be close but Europe takes it.

    Tiger Woods Paul Casey
    Phil Mickelson Sergio Garcia
    Bryson DeChambeau Ian Poulter

USA was up 3-1 after four ball but lost all four foursomes matches to trail 5-3. Europe won a lot of holes with pars as all four USA teams played poorly. Furyk’s parings will be second guessed.

USA trails 8 - 4 heading into the afternoon foursomes. . .European rout is on. . .three of the four US Captain's Picks ( DeChambeau, Mickelson, Woods) are stinking up the joint. . .Patrick Reed can't seem to hit a fairway when it matters. . .Tommy Fleetwood looks like he'll assume the "fiery leader" slot occupied by Poulter all of these years.

It's not over until it's over. If you see Thomas Bjorn lighting up one of Michael Jordan's cigars, then you will know it's over.

Furyk’s pairings have been criticized. Golf writers are brutal.

The United States has spent a long, long, long time trying to figure out the right partner for Tiger, but at some point, you have to step back and look at the big picture. It's gone poorly with friends, foes, steady stars and journeymen. It's gone poorly with long hitters, consistent fairway finders, excellent putters, the old and the young. Sometimes it's on them, other times it's been on him. Usually it's a mixture of both.

Here is a hard, uncomfortable truth: He is the one common thread in all of it.

The Ryder Cup has become a very big deal in golf....especially for the players who have to perform under great pressure head to head....not stroke play over 72 holes…..the blaming of the captains is nonsense in my opinion.. it is up to the players to execute.....

Golf doesn't build character...... it exposes it …...and the Europeans are mentally tougher (braver ?) and deserved to win.

We can quibble over how Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson shouldn't have played on Friday or about how Furyk shouldn't have put two guys with calm demeanors (Fowler and Johnson) together or about how it just means more to Europe (feels like a fallacy). But the bottom line in the 2018 Ryder Cup is the bottom line in most golf events. You win if you play well, and you lose if you don't.

If there's another task force assembly (there won't be), it should be a short meeting with two words on a one-slide deck. In 2020 and beyond the U.S. needn't reinvent the wheel. All it needs to do is what it always needs to do: Play better.
