Default Karnowski Back in Poland Signed with Polski Cukier Torun

Shem is back in Poland, signed with Polski Cukier Torun, apparently planning to work on his rehab there after his achilles injury. The deal he signed is for one year, so apparently he and the team expect he'll be returning to a higher level team after his rehab.

    Good luck, Shem!

Shem is playing right now for Polski Cukier Torun, in a Round 3 qualifier game in the BCL League vs. David Stockton's Medi Bayreuth. Good to see Shem on the court again.

    Box Score

Stockton with 5 quick points in 4:11 playing time, before he was pulled out after an unsportsmanlike(??!!!) foul.

Game ended tied at 73-73, so I gather that the score of the next game, on Medi-Bayreuth's home court, on Thursday, October 4th, will determine the winner of the series.

Shem ended up with 5 points, 4 rebounds, a steal, and 2 blocks. David: 13 points, 2 assists, and a steal.

Probably nothing. Even a very soft foul against an opponent who has a clear path to the basket is interpreted as 'unsportsmanlike' in Europe. Sometimes it is given even if the path to the basket isn't clear, but you foul intentionally and stop a dangerous fast break. This was introduced a few years ago and most players still aren't used to it.

I noticed a bunch of those in the World Cup qualifier games and was shocked it was an "unsportsmanlike" call.

Surgery? What kind of surgery did he have done? Hopefully, not to his back!

Looks like it was his heel.

Wow, a heel is an area that is really tough to heal...I hate that he is having to go through with recuperating from another injury...think he sure needs a break!
