Eurobasket names Jordan Danish League Player of the week!
American Shooting guard Jordan Mathews (191-SG-94) had an amazing evening in the last round for Naestved, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, three rebounds and two assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Stevnsgade (#3, 0-1) with 49-point margin 111-62. Thanks to this victory Naestved moved-up to the 3rd position in their group in Danish BasketLigaen. Naestved is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 1-1 record. In the team's last game Mathews had a remarkable seven three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Naestved's top player in his first season with the team. Former Gonzaga University star has very solid stats this year. Mathews is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.0ppg. Mathews is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 5.0rpg), assists (3rd best: 3.5apg) and averages impressive 4.0spg,66.7% FGP and 72.7% from behind 3-point line.
Jordan is a statistical leader in all facets of the game in Denmark:
