Default Anton Watson at the NBPA Top 100 Camp

Anton's on the roster, and he's getting some nice notice from Eric Bossi:
… Gonzaga nabbed a good one in Anton Watson. Mark Few‘s program has become renowned for skilled big guys and while Watson certainly has some skill, he is in my eyes a bit of a throwback to the days of Ronny Turiaf — in terms of attitude and approach — with his willngness to scrap, play tough and muscle his way to rebounds and buckets. I would bet on him being another in a long line of All-WCC players for the Zags.
I looked for a link to some stats for the event but didn't find any. If you find some, I hope you'll post them herel

Thanks, ZN. I was unable to see an article but did see the top 120 players. I noticed that Watson was 107. That sounds pretty high to me.

It looks like the author of that excerpt has no concerns about his motor, contrary to some here.

My link was busted, Reborn. I fixed it if you want to take a look at the article.

Nice to see he was one of the 10 players to get mentioned by the author after the first session.

Motivation, not motor is what has been brought up before. And I think you are seeing what better competition does to motivate some kids. I'd love to hear that even for just a day or two he tore up the camps.

Glad he’s getting noticed. I bet getting cut from the U18 national team will light a fire...

I don't know if they moved him, but when I looked he was 82.

He's 107 of 120 because the participants are listed alphabetically. He is ranked #82 in the country with Rivals https://n.rivals.com/content/prospec...-watson-210808, #56 with 247, and #64 in the 247 Composite https://247sports.com/Player/Anton-Watson-46047757

Through 3 games, @twonster4080 is averaging 11 and 5 at the @Top100Camp and shooting 60% from the field. He's solidifying himself as a top 50 in the class.

Really enjoying Gonzaga commit Anton Watson this week. Talented and versatile 6'8" piece who will fit right into their system. Zags with found money right in their backyard with the Spokane native.

NBPA: Who stood out on day two of Top 100 Camp

    Anton Watson, SF:

Watson doesn’t play on the shoe circuit so despite being an early commitment, he has flown under the radar nationally in terms of notoriety. This camp was a great opportunity for him to change that and he’s helped boost his stock. He has good size and length, is a sneaky leaper who has had some explosive finishes, has put the ball on the ground and also shown range with his jumper. There’s a very high upside to Watson with his size and versatility.

    Recruiting: Committed to Gonzaga (JG)

Great stuff. Not many kids do what Watson is doing by not playing on the shoe circuit for AAU and still ranking in the top 100 of the nation for 2019. He is a special talent!
