That conference average looks like it directly corresponds to conference RPIs.

WCC 9th in spending and right around 9th on RPI.

Why do the expenses and revenue for every WCC team, besides Gonzaga and BYU, match to the dollar?

Is it a data error or reporting error or some other factor?

One thing you’ll notice: Many schools will report the same amount for revenues and expenses. Obviously they massage the numbers a bit to make it look like they’re not profiting. Take the specifics with a grain of salt and try to look at the bigger picture here.

Make these number almost meaningless. The one exception is Louisville. Holy cow!

I deserved a RTFM for that question, sorry. I went right to the data.

I guess schools that report like this could just be lazy but I think it's more likely out of embarrassment. I wonder if the numbers are known inside the conference.

Other interesting tidbits - Seattle U outspends UP, Pepperdine and USD. Grand Canyon, who there has been some discussion of, would be 3rd in the WCC in spending.

After coaches and admin salaries, facilities, and travel, what are the expenses that set colleges apart?

How does Louisville make so much? TV deal? Licensing?

one difference is the cost of the scholarships. The difference in tuition between a private school like Pepperdine and a state school like Cal Northridge can be close to half a million dollars when you factor in 11 scholarships.
