Jeremy is #2 in blue in the game highlight video:

I haven't been following Maccabi T-A, of course, but it looks, from this story in the May 10 Jerusalem Post that Jeremy arrived at the end of April in a nick of time:

The BSL Final Four is just one month away, but the title race seems to only be getting vaguer by the day.
Each team will have three more regular season games to play after this weekend ahead of the start of the best-of-five quarterfinal playoffs.

The likes of Hapoel Gilboa/Galil, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Hapoel Eilat have also already proven this season that they can beat any team on their day, making the race to qualify for the Final Four, not to mention win the season-ending tournament, tighter than ever.

Maccabi Tel Aviv hasn’t even reached the BSL final in the past three years, and despite an encouraging start to the season, has completely capitulated since losing to Holon in the cup final almost three months ago.

The yellow-and-blue has won just six of its past 20 games overall competitions, including six losses of its last 10 BSL contests. Croatian coach Neven Spahija has been lucky not to lose his job and he completely lost his cool following Monday’s 74-69 setback in Eilat.

Not sure what's happening in Israel, but the season may be over due to a player's strike and management failing to reach a settlement.

    (1/2) Dear Fans,
We have received the announcement made by the league administration with great sorrow, according to the announcement: “Under these current circumstances, the situation does not allow the league to continue” >>
And then this, from the Jerusalem Post:
Strike plays games with Israeli hoops
The last time the Israeli players called a strike was five years ago.

After five days in which the Basketball Super League bosses and the Israeli players’ union traded threats and following the postponement of Monday’s BSL action due to the strike called by the players, the sides met once more on Tuesday evening in the office of the Minister of Culture and Sport Miri Regev.

The minister believed she would be able to get the parties to agree to a compromise that will at least allow the 2017/18 season to end as scheduled.

Box Score Pargo scored 20 points, with 6 assists and four rebounds.

As always, Pargo is #2, this time in Blue: (He is so damn good! Hard to believe he's only been playing with these teammates for a handful of games.)

    Game story:

Maccabi claims top seed after overpowering Herzelia 85:97 on the road
Maccabi fired on all cylinders in most of the first half but Herzelia managed to comeback in the second before Pargo and Roll called game. Tyus finished with MVP honors after putting up a monster display of 20P & 5R

Pargo took control over the game at the beginning of the third quarter scoring 11 points helping Maccabi withstand Herzelia's comeback attempt. Cohen and Tyus increased the visitors' lead to 55:73 putting Herzelia's comeback attempt to an end. Dawson's free throw took Maccabi's lead down to 17 points but Cole found Cohen for a corner three pointer at the buzzer to put Maccabi ahead 58:78 at the end of the third.

Adrian scored for the locals at the beginning of the fourth quarter but Tyus connected with Pargo to keep Maccabi ahead 61:80. Herzelia capitalized on a three point play and a technical to complete an 8:0 run forcing coach Spahija to call for a timeout (69:80). Roll scored a three pointer but Adrian and Dawson reacted (73:83). Roll capitalized on a technical fouled called upon coach Shivek (73:89). Dawson completed a 5:0 run by the locals who made another run at a comeback but Bolden and Pargo kept Herzelia at bay as the scoreboard was showing 78:93 with just under 03:30 remaining in the game. Pargo and Roll made sure Maccabi will get the 85:97 win.

He is legitimately SO good. Passing is amazing, he breaks down defenders really well. Joy to watch. Maybe that’s it...he’s just so dang fun to watch. More so than most.

Pargo with a career-high 15 assists(!) today as Maccabi T-A wins has its 3rd win of four against Ironi Nes Ziona, earning a bid to the final four.

    B]Box Score.[/B]

    From Eurohopsnet:

Norris Cole scored a game-high 24 points and dished out five assists, as Maccabi Tel Aviv beat Ironi Nes Ziona 96 – 74 in Game 4 of the Israeli Winner League quarterfinals to win the series 3-1.

Maccabi advanced to the Final Four where they will face archrival Hapoel Tel Aviv.

Apart from Cole, Jeremy Pargo had a stunning playmaking night with a career-high 15 assists (for two turnovers) to go along his eight points and five rebounds. Jake Cohen added 18 points.

ZN thanks for keeping us up-to-date on all our former Zags!

Question: I noticed on two occasions that JP made a pass to a teammate and that teammate was fouled during the act of shooting. If that teammate makes both FT's does that mean JP gets an assist as well?

Hapoel led 22-24 after 10 minutes and trailed 40-43 at halftime, but Maccabi scored the first 7 points of the second half to take a double-digit lead and then dominated the fourth quarter with 31 points scored compared to just 14 for Hapoel to wrap up the win.
    Box Score

It's the first time Maccabi T-A has made it to the Winners League finals since 2014. I've got the finals game scheduled on my calendar for Thursday.

I've seen references on the web to stories that Maccabi T-A wants to keep Jeremy on the roster after the end of this season. I hope something works out there.

The Sports Rabbi, with a postmortem of the game, including some nice props for Jeremy:

    3) But what was the biggest factor that gave Maccabi an advantage over the other teams? It was two things each starting with the letter P, practice and Pargo, “I spoke about the importance of practice all season and because of the rule of having two Israeli players on the court at all time which is not played in Europe. Since we finished the Euroleague, we started to breathe and started to practice the strike helped us as we practiced and didn’t stop. I think that was also an important part. Playing every three days with a different roster made it very difficult. I really don’t understand how to work under the condition but we found a way. The addition of Jeremy Pargo was so important for us.”

Good times ahead! Jeremy signs with Maccabi again! https://www.eurohoops.net/en/eurolea...two-year-deal/

    Jeremy Pargo remains a “Yellow”.

    By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

Maccabi Tel Aviv extended the contract of American guard Jeremy Pargo, the club announced Wednesday (11/7). The player will thus embark on his third season with the Israeli team, after his stints in 2010-2011, 2014-2015 and 2018.

Pargo, 32, returned to Maccabi on April and was instrumental in helping the club win the Israeli Winner League title by averaging 12.5 points, 8 assists, and 2.8 rebounds during 29.7 minutes per game in the playoffs. It was Pargo’s second title with Maccabi, following the 2011 championship.

Throughout his career, Pargo has also played for CSKA Moscow, Memphis Grizzlies, and the Cleveland Cavaliers plus multiple teams in China. Next season he will return to EuroLeague where he last played in 2015.

Am I correct in thinking there are potentially 3 former Zag PG’s that could play against each other in EuroLeague: Pargo, Pangos and Williams-Goss?!
“I don’t expect us to be perfect anytime soon,” guard Silas Melson said, “but one thing I do expect is trying to get better every day and playing tougher, harder and more physical than the opponent.”
