Can he do anything besides shoot? Quite a list of schools he has.

What else was he asked to do?

No offense, but unless we know what a player was asked to do, the stats of what they did only tell half the story.

And Jordan Mathews was really brought here for essentially this task...to shoot the rock. He can't be a detriment on defense, but a kid like this in a system where some players are more likely to be ball dominant and draw in help on dribble drive penetration can be a huge deal.

Just two questions: (1) How are his academics and (2) can he play defence?
My guess is his academics were the reason he went JUCO out of high school, just a guess.

Yes, I agree and since I've been "out of the game" for years, not sure today, what academics he needs to move on from a JC to an NCAA school, especially one like GU.

Also, if I am not mistaken and "IF" I am then someone will tell me...the last prolific scorer we had (Morrison) didn't play "D" or didn't have to play "D"...that is why I asked because his stats do not indicate he is the type of player that can score when he wants/needs too...just an observation...

Oh he's Canadian, eh? We always have to have at least one Canuck on our roster.

Beautiful shot. 40%+ 3PT, yet less than 11Pts per game? Somethings missing in addition to assists, defense (?), etc.

He had 8 starts on his team -- averaged 19.7 minutes per game (going down to 17.4 in conference play)-- looks like they used him as 6th man to help with offense.

Plus he was a true freshman. A lot of under the radar Canadian kids will go the Juco route first instead of playing college ball in their set on playing NCAA.

One strange thing about his stats.... he is a 40.4% 3 point shooter yet only 62% from the FT Line. Usually someone who can shoot from downtown (and if that video shows anything it shows he has range) is a better FT shooter than that....curious on the number of attempts.

3 pt attempts 101 made of 250 attempted (comparison Norvell was 77 of 208 in 27 MPG)
FT attempts 30 made of 48 attempted (comparison Norvell was 72 of 90)

And we've really gotta get away from using starts as so much of a barometer. It's about efficiency. Guess how many minutes Karl Anthony Townes got per game? 21.1. If this dude could attempt 8-10 3's a game, and make 40% over the course of a season in 17-19 mpg? Dude. You frickin' make that sign and watch defenses wet themselves in pre-game. That's a nightmare motion offense to defend.

I liked how effortless his shot looked. Jack never appeared to be bothered.
