Watching the NC Central/TX Southern game, 1st thought- St. Mary's is soooo much better than either of these teams, Second thought- Xavier will cream who ever is the winner.

Yeah, but NC Central and Texas Southern are automatic qualifiers. They won their league tourneys, which SMC didn't. Almost every team from a major conference can say they are better than TSU. Same thing with elite mid major programs.

I just got done watching Arizona State and Syracuse, both at large teams, and SMC is without question better and more deserving of being in this field than those 2 teams. ASU finished the season with 9 losses vs. non-NCAA tourney teams. Perhaps an all-time record for a power-5 at large team. That's far worse than SMC's non-league SoS issues. I don't care if they beat Kansas and Xavier. You cannot base your season on a couple of monster wins. They tied for 8th in a league whose 2nd place finisher didn't even make the dance.

But that's a "done" issue........on with the tournament.

I've got that nervous anticipation you get as your car is climbing to the top if the roller coaster. Waiting for a heck of a ride!

Try driving the Moki Dugway in Utah, it beats the crap out of almost every roller coaster I've ever ridden.

I'm just excited to watch some games today. Couldn't watch or listen to games yesterday at work, although I did finally use the Gamecast feature at ESPN to 'watch' some games.

Not sure you can have a "David" named Titans, but I'm all about chaos.

Good God - the Purdue big guy looks like a giant compared to Fullerton players.

It's close now but can't see how this game stays close. I'll say Purdue pulls away and wins by 20.

Agreed. Purdue will ( won't they ?) eventually pull away .

Meanwhile, A&M leads 28-27 at the half.

There is an open thread on The Athletic website and a lot of the writers are posting thoughts and answering questions. Not sure if you have to have a membership or not.

Haas is 7'2", 290. His backup Haarms is 7'3", 250. The Titans do have a 6'10, and a couple 6'9" guys but most of their roster is 6'3-6".

Fwiw, CSF has players from 5 other countries ; Canada, Grenada, Slovenia, Czech Republic, and China.
