BayHawks Pull Away From Vipers To Close Day 3 Of Showcase
MISSISSAUGA, Ontario — The Erie BayHawks (12-15) defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (18-10), 130-115, to end Day 3 of NBA G League Showcase 2018.
Jordan Matthews came off the bench to score a game-high 28 points as the BayHawks snapped the Vipers’ three-game winning streak. Jaylen Morris netted 22 points on 11-of-15 shooting for Erie, which went 1-1 during Showcase.
The BayHawks used the second quarter to take control of the game, outscoring the Vipers 38-28. From there, Erie maintained its lead the rest of the game.
Monte Morris tallied 20 points and seven assists and RJ Hunter finished with 18 points in the Vipers’ losing effort.
Erie visits the Lakeland [BB][/B]Magic for its next game on Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. ET, and Rio Grande Valley, which went 1-1 during Showcase, hosts the South Bay Lakers on Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. ET.
