    Student-Athletes Shine in Classroom for Fall Semester

    149 student-athletes were named to either the GU President’s or Dean’s List

    SPOKANE, Wash. —The Gonzaga Bulldogs had another outstanding semester in the classroom this fall, finishing with the second-highest fall GPA in school history at 3.35 GPA and the fourth-highest of any semester.
    Gonzaga student-athletes earned 149 total honors with 52 placing on the President’s List, (3.85-4.0 GPA), and 97 being honored on the Dean’s List, (3.50-3.84 GPA).


    “Our student-athletes continue to perform at a high level in the classroom, and this semester is no exception,” Director of Athletics Mike Roth said. “Balancing their academic responsibilities along with practice and competition is hard work, but it hasn’t stopped them from continuing to achieve great marks. We are proud of our student-athletes, as well as the coaches, faculty and staff that support them here at Gonzaga.”

    Additionally, 13 of the 14 athletic teams at GU earned above a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Men’s golf had the highest among those with a 3.61 GPA. Women’s volleyball had their highest GPA in program history at 3.57 and men’s cross country had the highest number of Dean’s List recipients in program history at 17.

    There were 17 Gonzaga student-athletes with perfect 4.0 GPA’s, led by women’s rowing and women’s cross country who had four each.

    Baseball - Carson Breshears; Men’s Rowing - Ian Melder; Women’s Rowing - Rachael Arand, Isabelle Belzil, Leila Lewis, Catherine Parra; Men’s Cross Country and Track - Max Kaderabek; Women’s Cross Country and Track - Jenny Albrecht, Maddy Glancey, Corrine Murray, Brazee Smith; Men’s Soccer - Joe Corner, Jalen Crisler; Women’s Soccer - Drew Williams; Women’s Tennis - Kate Ketels; Women’s Basketball - Emma Stach and Emma Wolfram.

    Look at that score of Cross Country athletes on the list!! So proud of them.
