Looks like our first chance to see Kyle in an Olypiacos uniform will be a Euroleague game at FC Barcelona Lassa on November 3.

We've got three guys in the Greek League now - Wiltjer, Gary Bell, and Steven Gray.

The key here is this is a EuroLegaue team and probably of the top 5 teams in the world outside the NBA. He has no guarantee to minutes and is going to need to earn it. This is a team with a reputation for hard nosed defense. They need Kyle's offensive wizzardry but if he can't play passable defense he will be riding the pine hard. Good luck Kyle, this is a great opportunity to prove yourself and a 10x payday than the G League.

Impressive! In the last 8 years Olympiacos got to the Euroleague Final Four 6 times! And became the champions twice out of those six times.

December 28th is the date to watch out for. Pangos vs Wiltjer

Do we have access to a box score for his first game?

Kyle didn't play in that game. Rest assured I'll keep an eye out for his first box score.

I'm hoping we'll get to see Kyle compete in today's Euroleague game between Olympiacos Piraeus and Panthinaikos Superfoods. He was on the pregame roster, but now that the game has started, he's not listed. What's up with that? Oh well, we'll see.

    Live Stats will be here
    , starting any moment.

Edited to add: Oh, oh... What's up with that?
Canadian international power forward of Olympiacos BC, Kyle Gregory Wiltjer, will not play on Friday's derby clash against Panathinaikos BC at Piraeus.

The 25-year-old former player of the Houston Rockets (2016-17) and the Rio Grande Valley Vipers is not ready yet and experienced head coach of the Reds, Giannis Sfairopoulos, chose to leave him out of match squad ahead of Euroleague's home game against the rivals Greens.

I am starting to worry about Wiltjer's choice to join Olympiacos rather than a lower level team. It is still too early to tell but he may have got in over his head. Even though his minutes seem to be creeping up to about 12-14 a game I think it is due to injuries (basically playing more minutes because Papapetrou and Agravanis are injured). He sure doesnt seem to be doing much in the minutes he is getting. He seems to be just standing on the perimeter waiting for catch and shoot threes (like the Rockets had him doing). He had a great post up game with the Zags but I worry that he is already pigeon-holed offensively as a professional (or it is a confidence issue). And he is already being viciously targeted on 1-4 PnRs. Dumb fouling in defense, not enough confidence in offense. Even in the greek league against weaker teams he hasn't shown much.

But it is not surprising for his first 10 games in Europe and it seems the fans don't judge him harshly (yet). It looks like he needs time to adapt in Euro basketball - hopefully he comes around.

However, he might have been better off getting his feet wet in Europe with a lower team that really needed dynamic offensive production from him. Oly is no joke - high pressure situation with a top 3 team in the world outside the NBA.

Kyle with what appears to be a nice performance in Euroleague today as Olympiacos falls to Brose Bamberg 65-67. Box Score. Kyle scored 10 points in 11:57, with 2 rebounds. Olympiacos is #2 in the Eurleague standings, with 9 wins and 3 losses.

Kyle actually started for Oly today and played pretty good in 18 minutes (8/5). Apparently all other PFs on their roster are injured right now and KW is the last man standing. Carpe Diem Kyle!

A few (3) decent boxscore games in a row for Kyle getting double digit points in each game along with decent minutes 12-19 per game. Career high 15 points in the last EL game. Looks like he is starting to score efficiently when given the minutes. Not sure how he is defending nor how long the injuries to the other PFs last. Looks like both Printezis (PF) and Milutinov (C) are back last game and Kyle still got 13 minutes (hopefully holds his minutes).
He's shooting 44% from three (leading the team) but still on limited attempts (16) across 10 EuroLeague games. Keeps that up...he will get more minutes. Oly needs that shooting.
