Default Zach Collins with the Blazers

    Z Collins 27 5-8 3-3 2-2 2 5 7 2 1 0 1 4 +29 15

Good game tonight, off the bench against Maccabi

    Actual line:
    30 6-9 3-3 2-2 2 6 8 2 1 0 2 5 +32 17

I just got in from a long day and thought the score was final. Add another board and 2 more points. Starter minutes but against Maccabi.
Hoping you have a sense of humor too!

    Sick

Collins is unavailable for Wednesday's game against the Suns due to gastroenteritis, Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com reports.Collins woke up feeling ill, so he'll have to wait a little while longer before making his NBA debut. With the rookie out, Ed Davis should see some extra run behind Jusuf Nurkic at center. Consider Collins questionable for Friday's game against the Pacers.

Thanks for the post. A few months ago, one could have blamed it on COG food, as far as us geezers remember.

Current students seem to like the food there today.

Collins (illness) is listed as probable for Friday's game against the Pacers, Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports.
This might happen after all. Collins vs Sabonis

    He’s getting DNP - Coach’s Decision.

Can’t argue w his decision to go pro and get guaranteed money but he just isn’t physically ready to earn NBA minutes. Blazers once had a youngster named Jermaine O’Neal ride the pine for the better part of 2 seasons; he turned out ok! Still, can’t help but wonder if Zach would rather be playing in the PK80 this week.
“I don’t expect us to be perfect anytime soon,” guard Silas Melson said, “but one thing I do expect is trying to get better every day and playing tougher, harder and more physical than the opponent.”

Porter just had a back injury in the first few minutes of his first college game.....he will undergo spinal surgery....the end of his college career....if someone is willing to pay you millions to play..... you are crazy to play for a education..... you can pay for a education yourself if and when you want one..

Agree with you and Flex. It takes time for bigs to develop at the pro level. Case in point: Nerlens Noel.

From what I've read, Portland is looking to the future, and Zach definitely fits into their plans.

Financially, there's no doubt he made the right decision. As for the Zags, you can hear Sonny and Cher in the background...the beat goes on.

ETA: Zach got 2 1/2 minutes in garbage time last night: two rebounds no points. Swanigan didn't get much more than that.

Zach had a decent game last night. 18 minutes, 10 points, 2 rebounds...but, he fouled out.

All things considered he's doing fine. He's finally getting some consistent minutes. If the Blazers were down on him they would have sent him to the G-League or glued him to the end of the bench. Instead, he's averaging 17.3 minutes per game in December despite not having an NBA ready body. If he works on his strength during the offseason, he could become a very solid contributor as early as next season.

30 minutes: 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks in a 3 point win vs Lakers.
He is getting more and more run during the games.
