Default Austin Daye signs with Hapoel Jerusalem.

Austin Daye signed with Hapoel Jerusalem today. Plays in the Israeli Premier League and the EuroCup (feeder competition into the EuroLeague)

This is a step down in competition (and maybe pay) for Austin. He played pretty well in the EuroLeague last year for the Turkish club Galatasaray. Good enough that I think he deserved another EuroLeague chance. Maybe next year.

He is quite the world traveler by the way:
    2009–2013 Detroit Pistons
    2011 Khimki (Russia)
    2013 Memphis Grizzlies
    2013–2014 Toronto Raptors
    2014–2015 San Antonio Spurs
    2014 Austin Toros
    2015 Erie BayHawks
    2015 Atlanta Hawks
    2015–2016 Consultinvest Pesaro (Italy)
    2016 Al-Manama (Baharain)
    2016–2017 Galatasaray (Turkey)
    2017–present Hapoel Jerusalem (Israel)

So, Hapoel was playing a Eurocup game against my hometown team (Lietkabelis) today. The game was literally 10-15 min of walking distance from my home. I didn't go though

Daye with 16 points (6/13 FG, 4/6 3PT), 2 rebounds & 1 assist in 30 minutes in a loss against my hometown team.

So do you cheer for Lietkabelis or Zalgiris when they play each other?

Lietkabelis. In Lithuania, people usually cheer for their hometown teams, but since historically there were only 2 contenders for the championship (Zalgiris and Lietuvos Rytas), people also choose one of those teams to root for in the Finals. It was only recently that Lithuanian league got a little bit more interesting
