MEDIA ADVISORY: Gonzaga baseball media availability after NCAA Selection Show

The Gonzaga baseball team will watch the NCAA Selection Show together in their clubhouse Monday, May 29 at Patterson Baseball Complex & Washington Trust Field. The show begins at 9:00 a.m. Pacific and airs on ESPN2.

The watch party will not be open to media, but Coach Machtolf and the players will be available for interviews at 10:30 a.m. at Patterson Baseball Complex should the Bulldogs receive an at-large berth to an NCAA Regional. If they are not selected, Coach Machtolf alone will be available at 10:30.

If selected, it would be Gonzaga’s second consecutive at-large berth, also earning one to the Fort Worth Regional last season. They last played in consecutive NCAA Tournaments in 1980-81, and it happened once more in 1973-74. In total, the Bulldogs have played in six NCAA Regionals since the Regional format was adopted in 1975, and they’ve seen NCAA postseason play nine times.

Gonzaga was not selected this year for the Division I NCAA Baseball Tournament.

The Zags with just 1 victory last Saturday versus BYU could be playing in the Stanford Regional.
