Looked up some info about her. Originally committed to Washington St., but spent her Fr. year at a juco in California instead.

Things are going to get crowed at the 2/3 slots in Bulldog land.

Katie appears to have played the SG slot in HS averaging over 16 points a game and hitting approximately 40% of her 3-point attempts. She did verbally commit to WSU - See Here:

    http://www.cougcenter.com/2015/9/24/...katie-campbell

It appears that we also offered her out of H.S. but she chose WSU initially.

Here is a LA Daily News write-Up about Katie ain 2015 as she was going into her senior year.

    http://www.dailynews.com/sports/2015...ack-to-the-lab

Here is the MaxPreps summary of her stats over her H.S. Career. Shot 51% for her senior year. Fabulous.

    http://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/kati...ball-stats.htm

Perhaps the biggest issue is she stayed home to have a baby:

    http://www.vcstar.com/picture-galler...ball/98937714/

I know the team will adopt her child as their own just like they did Shaq's. Hopefully she will have some family to stay with her up here to smooth the transition.

Here are her stats for last year at Ventura College:

    http://www.vcweplayhard.com/sports/w...iecampbello46x

Started all 33 games for Ventura College. Averaged just over 32 minutes a game, shot over 41% for the year overall, just 32% from 3. She averaged over 6rebounds a game and 3 steals a game with an assist to turnover ratio of 1.3.

    Welcome to Spokane Katie.

Campbell mostly played the point at VC. She has the potential of being a plus shooter to 3 and passer. She's a little wild at times probably contributing to the 1.3 assist to turnover but fun to watch. She's a player!

I had always wondered why the abrupt change late last spring/early summer. Wish her well at GU.

    welcome Katie!
No worries at the point as long as Molina comes back from her ACL. I do like Campbell a lot though. I caught a couple of games online when I found out that Campbell was at VC and was generally impressed with her as a player. I knew she could shoot it but she also handled the point well, was quicker than I had envisioned, and she played with a bit of a 'chip'. It will be interesting to see how she does for GU. I hope she has found a home.

Looking at her statistics at VC, offensively, she appears to be very close to a mirror image of Laura Stockton with her shooting percentages but a worse assist to turnover ratio. Defensively she gets more than twice as many rebounds than LS. Admittedly Katie's stats are against weaker competition than LS.

Katie's listed height is 5'-10" which gives her a couple of inches on Laura and 4" on Jessie. Katie would come in as a Sophomore, the same year as JL and a year behind LS.

Coug Tracks, since you have seen her play at VC, how do you think she matches up with our current point guards of LS ahd JL?

    Thanks,

    Welcome Katie...

With loosing Z'hane, numbers wise, it's good to have another player on the team. With Grace leaving, having another Sophomore works out well. If she played for Keani's father, I would think she would play with the same intensity Keani did.

To have a child, work and go to school... to still want to play BB at the college level makes me think she has the love of the game.

With the Zag family... It may work out for her.
    Let's wish her the best.

    Go Zags!!

she'll need a lot of support....Shaq had parents that were totally involved.....but I have no worries...I can see Emma W already sneaking hugs and kisses on "her" new baby....

Hard to compare Campbell and Stockton from what I have seen of the two players. My guess is Campbell ends up playing a lot off the ball for GU as she would have at WSU. She's a long range shooter and has a scorer's mentality. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.

    Interesting, Thanks Coug Tracks.

Her 3-point numbers are better than LS's but not by much and nowhere near ES's numbers. In addition with a 5-star and 4-star off guards coming in, the playing time at the #2 could be limited. Katie has rebounded very well (over 6 rebs a game) and at her height she could also see some time at the #3. Anytime you can get another ball handler on the court with your point guard it is a good thing. Having somebody with a scorer's mentality who will take it to the hoop is something we have been lacking.

    Is it November yet?

Here are a couple of additional clips of Katie. She attained a 4.0 GPA in her first semester at Ventura College and dreams of being an orthopedic surgeon.
