Zags look good when they move the ball and expose Portland's scrambling D vs. letting it off the hook with quick shots in the half court

How many times is Johnson going to be allowed to push players with his off arm? He just shoved Melson to the floor....

Would like to see us really pull away- keep than kenpom ranking. I just get a feeling we will have a fight come seeding time and we will need all the ammo we can accumulate

    Exactly right.

If ran our offense for 20 seconds each time, it seems like we'd get a lay-up or a wide open 3 in flow every time, but a little bit of play ground stuff happening.

I am glad this is not nationally televised. Zags are simply not playing well and not looking good.

We certainly don't look like the #4 team in the country...

    gawd, hate these games.

    we REGRESS.

by far, the worst I've seen us play all season.

    Not a great sign...

Hope a massive turnaround in 2nd half.

    Ugh.

Crowd looks as about as excited as the Zags players do.

I now see why we shouldn't mess with the rotation, even vs lesser teams.

the moment we put Rui in, our team collapsed.

not his fault, but the guards had to direct him while making decisions.

Killed our flow the moment we messed with the 8 man rotation.

another side effect is overcompensating, you know, when the coaches say move the ball more, then good open shots start getting passed up...seen that happen a coupel of times here. it's funny the littlest stuff can get things out of synch sometimesseemingly little. this is the first half where I think NWG bounced the ball too much and shot too quickly at times. I'm not ripping him folks, just observing his half

and then other guys followed him with the quick shots, kind of guys calling their own number a lot vs. sharign the ball and probing the paint

for me, not mentally sharp for this game to do the things Zags have been doing. not the biggest surprise that preparign to play a team that is already very weak and then loses it's best player point guard leads to a mental lapse...just human nature I think. we'll see second half how they respond

sub 40% FG, being out-rebounded, 1:1 ast to TO ratio, and given up 8 off rebs to a poor off rebounding team.

Partly coaching with odd rotations, but still, players launching 3's...yes they are open, but WAYYYYY too early in our possessions.

    Most $hitty effort this season.

    Gross.

    Pretty poor half. Disinterested.

I bet we beat them 40-15 in the second half.

Don't think NWG will go 1-7 in the second half.

+1 others have observed he looks lost at times where to be on O, tonight supported that observation I think. Love seeing him out there now working this stuff out now! maybe second half he's a little more settled, we'll see

Qualifies for one of those ten "bad" games, no matter how it turns out.

This a team wholly uninterested in their opponent. Need to lose that attitude and use every game to improve.

a couple of stops lead to easier opportunities and forces Porter to call timeout.

This may be part of it, but based on the rotations and some of the plays they are running, the coaching staff is clearly trying some new/different things.

    agreed.

messing with fire by playing this way.

can't believe Portland has a Top-20 recruiting class coming in...but they do!

Our highest rated class was this season, never Top-20 before this year.

    Amazing, really.
