It was Elite 8 back in 1999. However, Elite 8 teams typically played in the Great 8 preseason games at the United Center in Chicago the next season in December.

I went to that in December 1999 when Gonzaga played Temple.

I haven't been this excited to make the Elite Eight since I was 19.

If Duke gets these calls. Nobody will beat them.

    Refs favor them so much.

I'm not even bothering to watch. I've seen this movie before. Conspiracy theorists are thinking it's already been scripted that Duke and Kentucky are going to meet in the Championship Game.

Are the Zags going to Benihana for chow? Or have they already gone there, per the coaches promises?

I'd rather Zags get a shot at the #1 seeded dukies. It woul be a big opportunity.

Zags will shoot way better from deep on Sunday

I can't buy into the conspiracy theories. That said, I think the nation wants Gonzaga/Duke. At least based on a limited sample size of folks I text with out west and have to tolerate here out east

Watching the game with my BFF she asked me how I felt, "It's like a huge weight constantly pressing on my chest. I'm watching, but even with a 14 point lead I'm expecting the worst." I couldn't enjoy it until Alford called timeout with 1 minute left and put his bench in. Then I could finally celebrate after 16 years of woulda-coulda-shoulda.

    Anyone else feel that way?

Same here. That was a classy move by Steve. Can't imagine a lot of WCC and big time coaches doing that.

Agreed. Makes the coming game(s) with them seem to be matches of good sport.

I had to listen to the game on the radio as we drove to Spokane for my nephew's wedding tomorrow. It was really hard not to watch it but it was interesting and brought back memories of my younger days. Anyway, I made my mom drive because I knew I would be too nervous. I was, but at the end I was teary eyed with joy for the guys. They work so hard and while I love watching them, I'm excited for Coach Few and the players.

My son who loves Gonzaga, will be 17 years old in 4 days was one years old when GU made its last elite 8. I told him all about it tonight as we watched the game. he couldn't believe it had been that long since GU made elite 8. He really couldn't believe that Few had never made an elite 8. Me and Reborn had him in Reborns living room when he was 11 months and 3 weeks old as we watched the Zags push UCONN to the brink on that sunday afternoon in 1999. Really cool to experience this tonight

After 25 years of watching Zag basketball, I am shocked that we were favored heavily to beat UCLA in the Sweet Sixteen, wore white, had trouble shooting 3's, and the win was never in doubt from the tip.

This group of players is the greatest assembly of talent we've ever had.

    1999, I'd like you to meet, 2015..........
Yes, this team has proven that it is different from Zag teams of the recent past - that ability to play ugly and still win by double digits - Just incredible. Hope they can recapture that Iowa game offense against Duke - but either way, what a fantastic season!

    They better.

If they have any kind of drought like we did last night, we will get ran out of the building.

This Duke team, like them or not, will be by far the best team we have played in a long time.

2009 vindicated... I feel like this team isn't done... I hope I am right about that. But regardless of the outcome on Sunday... I am incredibly proud of this team... not only for how they are on the court, but off. The chemistry of this team is absolutely off the charts... keep playing together for 3 more games boys.

BTW... being east coast... I find that there is no in-between. Unless they don't watch hoops, you either are a Duke fan or a Duke hater.
