Default ZaGranny's Adventures in Vegas 2015

We left home this AM at 11:30. After a brief stop in Clark Fork to have my hair trimmed, we continued to Montana, where we lost an hour.

I realized in St. Regis that we were on track to be in Missoula around 4, so I called a high school classmate of mine (Lathrop H.S. Fairbanks Ak, class of '62) and we met her at Cracker Barrel for a late lunch (us) and early dinner (her). It was fun to visit with her.

Then we continued to the Dillon MT KOA, where we are now camped in our RV and eating some great hot homemade soup I brought along.

It is really cold outside--probably in the teens, so I didn't walk--took the day off. It is probably the coldest it has been on our way to Vegas for the tourney.

We plan to stay in SLC tomorrow, where I hoe it will be warmer.

Woke up to about 5 degrees this AM. It was so cold last night in the back of the RV that my feet did not warm up until about 4 AM even with the RV furnace running full blast--I needed a Victorian bed warming pan or hot brick! I dug our a paif of Mr. ID's hunting socks to warm u tonight before I got to bed. Hate cold feet while I am sleep

    Default Salt Lake KOA

We got here just before six and checked in. It is so much warmer here than in Dillon (32 degrees), I was a little deceived when I went walking the small dogs with just a pair of light gloves. Fortunately I had fleece line mittens in my jacket pocket, which I ut on over the gloves, but my hands were really cold by the time we got back to the motor home.

The skies were blue and the roads clear all the way from Dillon to Salt Lake. I took some pics, but will post them later, as I have to use Mr. ID's lap top.

We are going to walk to a near by restaurant in a few minutes..

    Here are today's photos.

This is what it looked like when we woke up in Dillon, MT.

Along the road. I have always liked this rock formation.

    ohhhhhhhhhhhh ya I forgot....

Go to breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi (a french Bistro/also not that expensive) right across from the Bellagio Fountains on the strip. They have amazing waffles. Also they are dog friendly on the patio (at least they were last year). I have three rescues and then another who is my travel companion. Have you been there???? They have a few others I know 1 in Chicago also. Have fun! Go Zags!!!!!!!!!

Just finished brunch at the paradise Inn in Fillmore.

We took an unexpected scenic tour when our gps said we were going to a restaurant and had us making a u-turn. It was kind of nice and we didn't lose much time. I'll post pics later

We had a great drive. It was another beautiful day.

We got to Vegas to the KOA at Sam's Town. Not impressed--it does not seem like a KOA. The staff I talked to were not very helpful or welcoming. It took us three hours (and a phone call) to get connected to the internet which is not free (like it was at KOA). I was not told over the phone that internet was not free.

When I checked in, I saw three other Zag fans--not going to the games. It was fun to visit with them.

I will upload photos later tonight, if the wifi is fast enough.

Here are photos of our drive from SLC to Vegas.

Another gorgeous day. It was cold staring out.

The pics of our scenic tour did not come out, but these are at the end of it.

That's Schnicklefritz, our senior dog--he will be 15 in April. He is a peek-a-poo.

We also have Rusty, a lab who will be 11 in July.

And Zorro, a pomeranian who will be 10 in November.

I'll post pics of them all in their new ZagNanas tomorrow.

Actually we have three, but in the small motor home "queen" the lab doesn't get in (see above and future pics)). At home in the huge king he sometimes gets in around 5 AM--when we don't need him.
