    SPOKANE, Wash. - The Gonzaga University women's basketball team heads to Las Vegas for the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout Friday and Saturday.

    ZAGS HEAD TO VEGAS FOR THANKSGIVING
    • Gonzaga is one of seven teams that will be competing in the annual South Point Thanksgiving Shootout at the South Point Casino.
    • The Zags play a pair of games in consecutive days.
    • Friday’s tip-off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time. There will be no live video stream, but live stats will be available on GoZags.com. Live radio will be on 1050 AM.

    THE LAST TIME OUT
    • Propelled by a fantastic first half, Gonzaga eased to an 89-60 win its first road game of the season at Montana State.
    • Last Friday, the Zags shot nearly 60 percent from the field in the opening half, while holding MSU to 24 percent.
    • The Bulldogs jumped out to a 17-0 lead, led 51-18 at halftime, and never trailed in the game.
    • Shelby Cheslek matched her career-high with 16 points.
    • Sunny Greinacher added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the double-double performance.
    • Lindsay Sherbert and Keani Albanez chipped in 15 and 14 points. Georgia Stirton dished out eight assists.

    GONZAGA STORYLINES
    • Gonzaga has appeared in 27 straight polls either receiving votes or in the top 25.
    • The Zags have won 26 consecutive regular season games in the McCarthey Athletic Center, dating back to a 66-63 loss to Saint Mary’s in 2012.
    • Gonzaga returns to Las Vegas where it has won the last two West Coast Conference tournaments. The Zags have won five of the last six WCC tournaments. GU is 14-3 in Las Vegas all-time.
    • The Bulldogs are playing Las Vegas during the regular season for the first time since it won a pair of games at the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic over Georgia and Dayton in 2011.
    • Shelby Cheslek eclipsed 400 rebounds in her Gonzaga career during the game at Montana State.
    • Sunny Greinacher is 23 points away from 900 points in her Gonzaga career.
    • Lindsay Sherbert will be playing in her 100th collegiate game Friday against American.

    ABOUT THE EAGLES
    • American is off to an 0-3 start to its season, with all three games played at home.
    • The Eagles are coming off a 63-56 setback to Princeton last Sunday.
    • After finishing second in the Patriot League last season, AU was selected second in the conference preseason poll this season. Jen Dumiak was named preseason All-Patriot League.
    • American returns seven letterwinners, including three starters, from the 2013-14 team that compiled a 22-10 overall record and earned an at-large bid to the WNIT.
    • The Eagles have five players listed taller than six feet, with the tallest at 6-2. The average height is 5-9.
    • Jen Dumiak is averaging 13.3 points and six assists per game this season, and Arron Zimmerman is adding 9.7 points per game.

    SERIES HISTORY
    • Friday is the second all-time meeting between Gonzaga and American.
    • The Eagles won the only meeting in the 1999 Lobo Classic in Albuquerque. It was a 65-64 overtime thriller in The Pit.
    • The Zags were led by Jessica Malone’s 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
    • Kate Miller scored a game-high 22 points to lead American.
    • Gonzaga is 2-2 all-time versus opponents from the Patriot League conference. The last meeting for GU against a Patriot League member was last season’s win over Colgate.

    - Greinacher is currently sixth in program history with a .511 FG Pct.
    - Needs 18 games to equal Stephanie Hawk’s 122, which is 10th all-time at GU.
    - Needs 126 points to become the 20th player to score 1,000 in a career at GU.
    - Needs 162 rebounds to become the 15th player to grab 600 in a career at GU.

    • Keani Albanez
    - Albanez is currently 10th in program history with 311 three-point attempts.
    - Needs 10 three-pointers to equal Taelor Karr’s 115, which is 10th all-time at GU.
    - Needs 21 games to equal Stephanie Hawk’s 122, which is 10th all-time at GU.
    - Needs 55 steals to equal Loretta O’Brien’s 162, which is 10th all-time at GU.
