I like the large photos, fwiw.

Just ordered a Solo Stove Bonfire for our patio after admiring your setup.

You are Reno are two of the nicest people I've met.

    Which is nice.

You even both put up with my insufferable self at lunch, astonishing, really.

I thought it was you who put up with me! I'd have that lunch again in a heartbeat, man.

I love my Solo stove. Use it for camping & my backyard. It radiates heat evenly and the design nearly eliminates the smoke. Very efficient

    Come on down sometime, Reno.

I'll hook you up with some heat that radiates evenly, even down to your bones, man.

I suspect it's enough heat to last you throughout the winter.

On weeks like today, when I hear about it being in the upper 60s and mid 70s out west, I yearn for that all-too-short period, when the week between Christmas and New Years, it can be 65 to 75 here.

It is interesting. We can have a snowfall - we had a "100 year snowfall" of 6 inches 2 winters ago, temps down to 20, and highs at 31. Snow on palm trees. Four days later it was 65 degrees. Green palm trees.

I actually love fall, and crisp air, and I like snow around Christmas time to New Years. On January 2nd of every year, I want it to be 72 degrees and sunny. Timed just right, this is about the only place I've been that can pull it off. We have days in the 40s in December, and we have days in the high 60s/70s. It's just weird the extremes in winter.

You & Phish are two of the best chaps I have had the pleasure to meet via the GUB. And I didn't think you were insufferable at all. That was my first excursion to the Kendall Yards neighborhood.
Really enjoyed the food and the company.

As far as coming down your way some time. . .be careful what you wish for. Retirees have a habit of throwing a bag in the trunk of the car and hitting the road.

Beautiful evening in the Truckee Meadows. Crickets are chirping, sky is clear, and I don’t have to set an alarm for tomorrow morning. #lifeisgood

Back to campus this weekend for Class Reunion (40th). Trying to come up with succinct answers to the usual interrogatories. .

    “Married. Divorced. Married.
Widowed. Retired. Details available upon request. “

Or something along those lines. . .

Have set up my home office using an iMac and it's a little scary (after being a Windows worker bee for 40 years).

Parking this factoid here for the 12/30 game vs. Detroit Mercy

    Single-season 3-point shots
    Challenger: Antoine Davis (Detroit Mercy)

    Leader: Stephen Curry (Davidson) — 162 3PM

Antoine Davis set the Division I freshman record by making 132 3’s last season, surpassing a mark previously set by Stephen Curry in 2007. Next, Davis could be a candidate to break another of Curry’s records: the single-season 3-point record.

Curry buried 162 triples as a sophomore, a record that’s stood since 2008. He was a trend-setter, a trailblazer when it came to knocking down shots from the perimeter. At Davidson, he lived beyond the arc. Now Davis has established residency behind the 3-point line at Detroit Mercy.

He basically changed the game itself.

I read an article the other day about whether a player like Shaq would even make that big a difference in today's NBA, where unless you can be a 3 point threat on every play, you have limited value.

The players are so strong now that 3 point shooting can be done with such precision that it has nullified a lot of the game.

I like that quote from the old Oregon State coach, "If they are giving away 3 points for a basket, it should be for getting a lay-up out of your half court set."
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

Flannel sheets fresh from the dryer are a great antidote to a snowy winter evening.

    Default December W-L Record

I think the Zags will go 3 -3 in December after weighing the commentary from local experts found in the last Game Thread:

    Timme's softness is shocking-- Goshzagit
Woolridge driving game is awful, just a wasted possession every time-- Goshzagit
Petrusiv is so weak. Can’t stand it-- U Zig, I Zag
Team is soft. Skilled but soft -- Zags 11
Wooldrige + Gilder might be the worst Gonzaga guard tandem in my lifetime. Those two are literally worthless -- pcm541
Woolridge looks like a natural soccer player who ended up on a basketball court -- LTownZag
Gilder like a Ghost and Woolridge like Wonka, looks like he can play but lives in a world of pure imagination -- Goshzagit
    Petrusev is garbage -- pcm541
Our bigs are soft. Zero toughness going up. They flop-- Zags11
Soft beyond soft our bigs are -- jazzdelmar
Our bigs attack the rim with all the tenacity of box turtle -- U Zig, I Zag
Timme is pathetically weak -- jazzdelmar
Watson doesn’t like contact anymore than any of the others -- hooter73
No reason to think the Zags can beat UW, AZ, and UNC based on the keen insights noted above. . .
