I am still confused. How could Casey Calvary have been a sophomore in 98-99 and two years later in 00-01 be a junior? Ditto with Axel Dency,Richie Frahm, Mike Nilson, Mark Spink, and Matt Santangelo.

I almost didn't want to vote on this one since they were both so good. That said, the presence of Richie Frahm on one roster and absence on another made the difference for me. 98-99! Goodness it's close though. Dickau and Stepp! That was the good old days for sure.

I'd pay good money to see Calvary cover Calvary. Went with the Diamond Dan Dickau edition.

I went with the 98-99 squad only because of the tourney run but really close.

Crap. I looked at the other thread and still had it in my head that it was 99 v 00, so I voted 99 by mistake. If someone with Godlike power can reverse my vote and change it to 01, please do so. Thanks.

Can't reverse votes on a poll side of things, but I will reverse the vote at the end, and give a grand total when the poll is closed. Thanks,

In sports, hunting, and war it is results at crunch time that matters. Potential, what-if's, they beat their personal best, a great group of guys, etc. can be viewed as just talk. Sorry family I wounded the deer but he got away, the South would have won the battle of Gettysburg if Picket's charge had been successful, and 01 team would beat 99 team 7 out of 10 times, don't cut it.
I had to go with 99 team because they got the best results at crunch time.

    Seems pretty fair to me.

Remember, 98-99 Gonzaga has one vote that was wrong, and should be on the 00-01 team. 98-99 has to be up by one to put into OT.

They'd have to be up two; plus 1 on one side and minus one on the other, i.e., 16-16 as it reads is 17-15 when corrected.

IDK ZagaZags, I have to disagree, on Both. I would flip them for me. Especially if Blake Stepp is 100%

Holy crap... I think we need to have a rematch of these two teams during the regular basketball season to see what results we get... looking like 00-01 are going to sneak out with a squeaker... but dang, I'd love to see this matchup with 80+ people voting. GZ62... please remember this and do a November/December rematch of these two.

much like primary elections, a small group of partisans decides the fate of GU nation.

It will be fun to see a larger vote.
