Default Last Slice of Coconut Cake

Adios, 2013-14! It's been a good, if different, sort of year.

I especially like that a so called bridge year at GU still means some outstanding ball games and a visit to the NCAA Tourney.

    Cheers!

I'd like a slice of that cake. But only if I can eat it, too!

Before the year started, I wondered if they could win the WCC and make the Big Dance. . .they did both and along the way provided a lot of entertaining evenings and afternoons that were a welcome relief from some of the ups and downs of real life.

    Thanks Zags !!

I agree completely with all of your posts, but man was that disappointing. It doesn't sting as much as last year though.

I'm awfully proud of this team. Kevin battled turf toe all year. Bell broke his hand. Sam missed games. We had zero depth up front to start the season (which cost us the Dayton game and subsequent shots and Baylor and possibly Syracuse). But they stuck with it and won the the regular title, the tournament title, and beat a good OK State team.

I think they ended the year as a top 25 team. That is pretty good. We can tell our players and recruits that when you come to play at GU, expect to be on a top 25 team. And expect to do your part to stay there. Sam, David and Drew did their part admirably.
