Default Kevin Pangos To University Games for Canada

Kevin and Kyle Wiltjer are in Canada at training camp for the National Development Team (DMNT) in preparation for the University Games slated to begin in Kazan, Russia on July 6.

No final roster or schedule has yet been announced on basketball.ca, but I'd expect the site should be posting something soon, since the team's departure for Russia is less than a week away.

The 14-man training camp roster was previously posted here. Canada swept the 9 games in the Four Nations Tournament, as discussed in the previous post here on guboards.

As posted in the previous thread,
Twenty four teams were drawn into four groups with six teams in each. The tournament is scheduled to take place in Kazan, Russia from July 6 through July 17.

Group A: Russia, Germany, Ukraine, South Korea, Estonia, Oman

Group B: Serbia, Romania, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Mongolia

Group C: Canada, USA, Czech Republic, Australia, UAE, Sweden

Group D: Lithuania, Finland, Brazil, China, Chile and Norway.
The site for Team USA has the schedule for the games posted and includes the following preliminary round games for Canada:

    Sun, Jul 07 Canada-Sweden (MSC)
Mon, Jul 08 Canada - United Arab Emirates (MSC)
    Wed, Jul 10 Canada-Australia (BH2)
Thu, Jul 11 Canada-Czech Republic (MSC)
    Fri, Jul 12 Canada-USA (BH1)

Now, I'll just sit tight until basketball.ca releases more information or one of the posters here brings some news ...

Canada v. USA - who ya got?

This looks like a fairly decent roster for Canada and not the most impressive U.S. roster. Could be interesting....

Keep waiting for news on basketball.ca, but nothing up yet, even though the team leaves for Russia tomorrow:

    Default Haws vs Pangos

I know Tyler Haws from BYU is on the USA roster, will be fun to follow how these guys battle head to head.

The roster is now up; Mullins and Rivard were the final cuts.

Thanks ZN! Canada is pretty much getting owned but it is fun to watch. Where have I seen that Marcus Smart guy before?

The last few posts are about the U-19 tournament in Prague. Kevin will be playing for the National Development Men's team, in the World University Games in Kazan, Russia.

    Sorry for the confusion.

Here's a link to the Official University Games site, where I hope we'll find live stats for Kevin's games starting tomorrow.

USA's games (schedule here) will be carried on ESPNU. If anyone has a link or info for TV or online video streaming for Canada, please post. (I think the games might be available on Canadian TV for Zag fans north of the border.)

I assume you're talking about the USA University Games team, not the U-19 team. They beat UAE 140-46 this morning. Box Score
