    Default Wcc?

I honestly say the Zags need to make the move from the WCC now.

I do not think it is a coincidence that we seem to play better pre-WCC regular season than post-WCC regular season nearly every single season.

Zagco believes this very much. They should press the MWC hard. The early conference tourney is also a fail.

But if we stay in the wcc we get to play 2 extra tourney games next year in vegas! 2 more rpi killers!! Hope we enjoyed that 1 seed because outside of going undefeated it's never happening again

And just think how well the football team will do against Boise State. Exciting to think.

The early conference tourney is a huge fail. We need to have our WCC tourney end on the Saturday before selection Sunday.

We should have a "bye" week for each team during conference play to push us 4-5 days ahead.

I don't think the WCC had anything to do with the outcome of the game.

Brown thing in round thing nothing more nothing less. We missed 11 layups.

    Go!! Zags!!!

I too think it's time to get out of the WCC.

I've already heard that from two different phone calls tonight.

We need tougher competition all year instead of intermittently.

hard to do when your best competition is early in the year...maybe should try the romar scheduling philosophy so that when the zags get to the wcc the level of play actually steps up a notch...

Yes, but that was 14 years ago, and one of the last times the Zags were playing better in March than they were in December.

UNLV had elite talent for years and only won one title. Their conference back then did not prepare them for tough, close games.

What other non-football conference would be better?

As I wrote in another thread, I think that our lack of conference competition is what causes this team to play so tight during the tournament.

We get marquee wins in November/December b/c we are a "tight knit" group that sticks together and thus there is little learning curve, we start out way ahead of the norm.

Then, our conference season teaches us to fear losing, not going out and grabbing a win. No matter what the reality is, the BB writers see our conference games as "Not losses" and "Losses" and we get that into our head. We don't progress like other teams do later in the year and we learn to get real conservative - - play not to lose.

Then we hit the tournament with the weight of the world on our shoulders and don't know how to play loose and stretch ourselves.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

IMO, this loss had nothing to do with our conference or RPI. this had to do with being mentally unprepared for this tournament. We were flat and too conservative and it was reflected in our shooting %'s for two straight games. We didn't play as good as we did against our own teams!! We played worse. St Marys was far better than Southern.

Wichita St hit 14 threes. 14 threes

But we made mental errors and the first half we were just as sloppy and missed just as many bunnies as we have all season. We didn't elevate our game.

Hart elevated his game above even his own personal best! But the rest did not. Few must learn to elevate his game for the tournament too! He must learn how to elevate the entire team emotionally and mentally. Few MUST continue to grow and learn. He forgot about the "nastiness" he knew we would need this time of the year. He reverted back to being conservative and careful.

Love Few. CBS or TBS showed the WSU coach giving his pre-game speech with confidence. We did not hear what Few said to his team. I guess it doesn't matter now. I was hoping they would play loose all game long. The last four minutes they played pretty tight in my opinion.

They played tight for 2 straight games. They played better in our conference tournament than they did thursday and today. Few has got to learn how to fire our guys up and get them to elevate like Hart did. Hart was the only one who elevated beyond his personal best.

Few needs to elevate his post season game too. this is on him.
