Grantland did a story about Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. There were a lot of inside Sonics stuff in it. I found it pretty interesting.

    Grantland: Ray and Rashard, Reunited

I have thought about this in particular a lot

Imagine for a second that Presti never made the deal that sent Allen to Boston.
How good would that Sonics team had been with Ray Allen, Kevin Durant, and Rashard Lewis? I almost wonder if it would have saved the team. Obviously, they wanted to make that team as bad as possible to crush support for the team staying.

    Also, this

When Lewis was a teenager making his way into the NBA in Seattle, a crop of younger Seattle-area players came up behind him: Nate Robinson, Martell Webster, Isaiah Thomas, Spencer Hawes, Marvin Williams, Aaron Brooks, and many, many others. “It’s such a sports town,” Lewis said. “Not only basketball, but football, baseball. They really support their professional athletes, and playing in KeyArena is something that I will never forget. They most definitely deserve a basketball team if not today, tomorrow. I know a lot of people say New York is the basketball mecca, but to me, it’s Seattle.”

I'm reading that Bill Simmons believes there will be two people making bids to bring the Atlanta Hawks to Seattle.

    1. Chris Hansen
    2. Thomas Tull

    From wikipedia

Thomas Tull (born 1970) is an American businessman and film producer. He is currently the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Legendary Pictures. His firm has produced and/or financed several major motion pictures, including the Batman Dark Knight trilogy, The Hangover and sequels, 300, Man of Steel and others.

Will overtaxed, traffic-choked Seattle be able to offer a new (adequate) venue?

    Yes.

The Environmental Impact Study will be released shortly (and it will be favorable to the Seattle Arena project).

NBA came out and said that the Hawks basically cannot be moved from Atlanta. Where the F was this anti-moving of teams sentiment when the Sonics were stolen from Seattle.

You know Clay Bennett is the head of the relocation committee, right? He'll screw us as many times as possible

If you buy the team, and are approved...Al Davis proved that you can move the team, at least when the NFL tried the same crap with him and the Raiders.

This is kind of related to the Sonics.

10 Lessons From a Night in Seattle With Jamal Crawford, Baron Davis, and More

    I liked this part

    2. Seattle has a type.

Look at the guards who come from Washington:

    Jason Terry
    Jamal Crawford
    Nate Robinson
    Isaiah Thomas
    Tony Wroten
    Aaron Brooks

    Don’t you see?

    It’s all connected.

Someone needs to go to grad school to study this.

    And that person is me.

Basically, any shoot-first guard who’s twice as fun as anyone else on the court and/or gives his coach an ulcer probably has ties to Seattle. I didn’t realize how badly I needed to see a lineup with Jamal Crawford, Nate Robinson, and Isaiah Thomas until it happened. I called them Team Four Loko: Crawford pulling up from 35 feet, Robinson throwing himself at the rim for reckless putback-dunk attempts, and Thomas weaving through four defenders at a 45-degree angle, somehow popping up with a clean look at another layup. You know how some people talk about the Spurs like they’re some kind of spiritual triumph for basketball? Team Four Loko is my spiritual triumph. Or, it definitely felt like that on Friday.
    Also, this part

Games like this definitely aren’t happening in Oklahoma City.

    Sad day for the Sonics.

Seattle City Council kills sale of street for Sodo arena

The port keeps talking about how the arena will kill their jobs. I have yet to see it explained how exactly that is going to happen.

My thoughts on KD leaving OKC. Karma is a cruel mistress. Suck it OKC and Clay Bennett.

I wonder what will happen there when Westbrook leaves next year. Maybe attendance will drop so much and they will lose so much money that they move the team back to Seattle.

The scoop on that rumored ‘Seattle meeting’ about bringing back the Sonics

But in an interview Tuesday, Buford reiterated that a meeting is indeed planned for inside of two weeks from now, involving entrepreneur Chris Hansen and his investment group that remains stalled in efforts to build a new arena in the city’s Sodo District.
In an interview Tuesday, Nellams said the local NAACP is organizing the meeting and plans to keep pressing for Occidental to be sold to Hansen’s group.

“All of the community groups are going to get together and start putting a lot of pressure on the Mayor and the council members to vacate this street,” Nellams said. “That’s pretty much what it’s about.”
I don't think this is something to get excited about, but it is something.
