BYU looks like they havent played in 2 weeks......that and crap

But really... gotta love 3/4 qtr court passes leading to turnovers from the second coming of jimmer. Not to mention the entire team jogging back on D to get beat 6 consecutive trips down the court. BYU puts in their entire second team and they outplay Iona. Put the first team back in and the lead swells to 20. Maybe they are hungover?

If I were a BYU fan I don't think I could watch the rest of this game.

He already has 8 assists this game and their is 8 mins left in 1st half and has made full-court passes we've never seen...

If you were looking at this by the numbers, it doesn't seem like BYU is playing too terribly on the offensive end. They've already scored 32, on pace for 40 in the first half.

But then you consider the tempo, and you realize that their offense isn't playing so hot. And the defense is even worse. Iona is shooting above 60% both total and from 3!

If people didn't know about Machado before this, they do now.

7 pts, 9 assists, 1 steal. 0 turnovers. 24 minutes still to play.

Iona has missed a couple of shots recently. They aren't (as a group) going to shoot that well ever again in their lives, frankly. But, the lead is probably enough to hold onto.

Iona is playing with confidence and making it look easy. If they continue to play like this in the tournament, they could go far.

Iona still has to close out yet. Miss. Valley showed that can be hard to do.

    Closed that half poorly.
I have to root for Iona. They are too much fun to watch...would love to see them play Marquette but if it gets close byu has a BIG advantage in a short possession game.

BYU just doesn't know how to play Iona. At all. Credit to the Gaels.

How did Iona lose 4 games in the MAAC AND in their Conference Tournament AND barely make the NCAA's?

Opposing teams knew when to slow. it. down.

BYU is actually trying to speed it up. Its laughable. Falling squarely into Iona's game plan.

Keep in mind, Iona's tallest player is barely 6'7".

Why isn't BYU making this a half-court game and utilizing their HUGE advantage with Hartsock & Davies?

Who on Iona can guard, well, either one?

Iona would beat UNC with the right pace. Its the only way they know how to play and have to play given their small size and lack of post game.

BYU has weapons up front -- use them. The ONLY way BYU stayed in our game was Davies and Hartsock, same with the WCC semi vs USD.

Unless they slow this game down, utilize a swing offense, and get the ball down low, they'll lose by 30. Carlino doesn't help matters much for anyone. That kid's IQ is questionable at best.

I just can't understand what I'm seeing by BYU's decision making and Coaching, but more power and props to these Gaels.

    Maybe Gaels just dominate Cougars.

BYU will win this game, watch and see what happens when a hot team goes cold in the second half.

BYU has some pieces to slow it down, too, with their post games and rebounders, but the trigger man Carlino couldn't/didn't run much O to get it in there much, and their overall ballhandling/passing/decision making was exposed I thought
