Nothing says white trash better than a parent complaining about foul calls in a youth basketball game where their team is up by 30 with 1 minute left... oh and telling their kid to shoot as time is running out with a 32 point lead.

Did you see them taking swigs out of a paper bag too, or did they just have a high life 6 pack out in the open?

No beers... It was a CYO intramural game... But he did step out after every quarter to have a cigarette.

I'm running the Cherry Blossom 10 mile run in DC tomorrow. I am woefully unprepared.

I just finished the Cherry Blossom 10 mile run in 85 minutes. I'm pretty happy with that because my goal was 90 minutes. Some highlights from the run include a Zags sign about halfway through, dodging tourists running across the race course, and my favorite was a group of people handing out beer at the 8 mile mark. That was exactly what I needed to finish the last two miles.

Drank a beer and beat your time goal? Sounds like a win to me.

I have grown tired of a-hole parents. My sons last CYO hoops game, the coach and parent of a player of the other team has basically taught the kids.. Anyone who drives you foul them since you can't foul out. To the point where the kids are actually yelling to do it. At one point my son is slapped about 5 times on the way to the hoop... For once the kid reffing calls the foul... A-Hole coach has a huge smile on his face... Claps and says great defense boys! At which point I hit my boiling point and yelled "intentionally fouling isn't defense, it's called a foul, learn the difference!"

Reminds me of when I worked at St. John's... AC was turned on/off on set days regardless of weather. Soooo... In the fall your would be freezing for about a week and in April you lost about 5 pounds sweating in your office.

Here they have to turn off the steam. Apparently, it takes a long time to turn off the steam. They haven't yet turned on the A/C. I think they have to have five days in a row of 80 degrees or higher outside before the A/C goes on.

How dumb is that? This isn't college basketball or the NBA where wins and losses are all that matter. Exploiting this rule does not teach those kids anything about how to play good basketball. If I was a parent of a kid on that team I would be pissed. I would want a coach to teach my kid fundamental basketball.
