The aches and pains are offset however by wisdom, tenacity, and guile.

    Don't underestimate guile.

    Zagphish,

Welcome to the club. I'm better at 40 than I was at 30.. Hope you've got that going for you also.

Oh, and speaking of aches and pains, don't slip on the stairs at midnight and fall on your back. It ####ing hurts!!

Yes, 40 only comes once, enjoy it before it turns into the 50s.

    Happy birthday Phish!
I'll let you in on a little secret...now that I'm into my 40s I tell people that I'm in my late 50s, that way they (hopefully) say "wow, you look great!"

And, the only thing worse than turning 40 is not getting the chance to turn 40!

Geez, if you ever meet the guy, he has the maturity of a 60 year old.

I'm depressed that the guy I thought of as a big brother is that much younger than me.

Great guy, though. Hope you have a very happy b-day.

And you didn't even need to wish it yourself, as "some" do … I only did once.

Happy Birthday...life doesn't begin at 40 and it sure doesn't end there either....you have obviously picked the right parents and your wit and sense of humor will keep you younger than your years....and yes...age is just a number...
