Brand new album out from native Washingtonian Brandi Carlile. On first listen I think this is my favorite track.

A wonderful rendition of "Penny Lane" by Elvis Costello at the White House with Paul McCartney there for an award:

I was looking up some other stuff, and stumbled onto this. Hadn't heard it in forever. Took me back to freshman year of college. The song is totally tongue in cheek and a joke...and yet it's a damn good song too. These guys had bad timing, arrived just about at the end of the hair metal era.

Listening, on and off, to some SYA. A trio of Dutch women that do mostly covers.

Why is it that Europeans speak English so much better than most Americans?

    I'm laughing. Why aren't you?

That's nice willandi. I thought symphonic metal was the only music that comes out of Netherlands.

Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangster - Geto Boys

I'd link a video but it is laced with profanity and is highly NSFW... but it is prominently featured in the movie Office Space.
