"Ain't Wastin' Time No More" - The Allman Brothers Band.

ABB is a good playlist for housekeeping chores.

Old classic “Scrapple From The Apple” off of this Bud Shank trio album. Real Doors feel with no bass.

Something else I stumbled onto. Add this to the list of bands that deliberately use a wrong letter in the spelling of their name but pronounce it like the letter that should be there:

    CLAVVS is claws
    Chvrches is churches
    Pvris is Paris

Anyway I got to this from GEMS, not even sure what subgenre you would call this, but I"m digging it for the last week or so.

Alanis Morisette...first album in 8 years. Her re-debut is so touching and perfect in that she's singing about raising children:

    Lyrics:
Lon-dubh a' seinn ann an dubhar na h-oidhche

tog do sgiathan brist' is čirigh suas

fad do rč, bha thu a' feitheamh airson an těd' gu togail rithe.

Lon-dubh a' seinn ann an dubhar na h-oidhche,

tog an sgŕil bho d' shůil is seall gu geur

fad do rč, bha thu a' feitheamh airson an tioc a bhios tu saor.

    Lon-dubh sgčith, lon-dubh sgčith,

Steach dhan t-sňlas dubh na h-oidhche.

    (Blackbird fly, blackbird, fly, fly.....

into the light, dark black night...)

Lon-dubh a' seinn ann an dubhar na h-oidhche

tog do sgiathan brist' is čirigh suas

fad do rč, bha thu a' feitheamh airson an těd' gu togail rithe.

That's really pretty willandi. Interesting, I've heard several versions of that song, but not in Gaelic or whatever that is.

Do you know Kate Rusby? Does some traditional and some contemporary Celtic folk songs. Dang, I thought for sure she's Irish, but she's from right smack dab in the middle of England.

    Thanks. Yeah, it's gaelic.

Haven't heard of Kate. I see lots of different acts at the Highland Games, but most are much more raucous. Most people at the games are having a good time, many are drinking and loud seems to be good.

That's funny. The loudest I ever recall nature being, I was camped out somewhere beside a lake near the Grand Coulee area. It was spring. Around the time it was just barely starting to get light, the frogs and waterfowl started having a raging party. It was deafening.

I bet! It's weird, we're only a literal stones throw off a major highway and camped out in our tiny backyard nature sounds completely took over the normal traffic noises.

I find it amusing that they are Swedish.

They don't quite fit the profile of several previous Swedish musical groups that have found some success in the U.S.
