Fields Named Louisville Slugger TPX All-American
SPOKANE, Wash. - Gonzaga University's Matt Fields has been named to the Louisville Slugger TPX All-America third team, announced by Collegiate Baseball Thursday.
Fields, the 2009 West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year and All-WCC selection, becomes the seventh Zag ever to earn All-America honors, becoming the first to do so since Clayton Mortensen earned the same recognition in 2007. Fields finished the regular season second in the WCC in ERA (2.86) and in wins (8) while also leading the Bulldogs in strikeouts (73).'I found it is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay… small acts of kindness and love.'
