    Default A Holiday Question

As the Holidays approach, I am confronted with one of the most burning questions faced during this season; what do I mix eggnog with?

I have done some extensive research into this, at least five minutes on Google, and have not really found an adequate answer. I realized then that the best set of experts are assembled here.

So I posit the question; what should you mix with eggnog?

Skip the eggnog. Drink the bourbon.

That is my general approach for both bourbon and cognac which pretty much leaves rum.

Alton Brown's recipe calls for spiced rum, bourbon, AND brandy/cognac!

My husband usually uses spiced rum, but if we don't have it, bourbon. We make sure we always have bourbon.

    There's some wisdom here. . .

My old man was a brandy guy. Brandy & 7 was his "go to." He introduced me to brandy-laced egg nog. I've never looked back ( though I have to confess, I don't do egg nog every year )

I made a mess, almost ruined a shirt. I tried egg nog with cowbell and it ran out everywhere.
    It's not funny.

My dad would mix it with 7UP when I was a kid which seems weird now that I think about it.

To answer your question, I think I would add bourbon.

    Merry Christmas, Reno.

Looks like you mix your Jack Daniels with Shasta cola

Never ! That Shasta cola was used to soak some crud off a second hand BeCu set of Ping irons.
