    Default Committee Looking Pretty Smart

    I loathe the politics and BCS bias that seems to be a part of the NCAA selection process, but for what it is worth, the Committee is looking pretty smart as of this moment. In the East the 1, 2, 3 and 4 teams are through to the Sweet 16. In the South the 1, 2, 3, and 4 teams are through to the Sweet 16. West looks likely to pass the 1, 2, 3 and 5 teams to the Sweet 16 but things could change. Midwest still playing, but if current scores hold, the 1, 2, 3 and 12 teams (Go Arizona!) will make the Sweet 16.

    Again some games in progress so I may be going out on a limb here, but does anybody recall a year when all #1, #2 and #3 teams made it to the Sweet 16? Not exactly an upset year. Here's hoping that the Bulldogs smoke UNC to stir things up a bit and make the rest of the tournament interesting. Having 4 #1 teams in the final 4 is boring.

    Go Bulldogs!
    Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

    Pitt/Xavier and Nova/Duke are going to be terrific games at the East regional in Boston.
